Hello Hive friends!
How are you? I hope everyone is healthy and happy. This is my first time posting in the Market Friday community since joining Hive.
I just returned from my end of year holiday to my hometown. About seven months since I last went home. One thing I miss is the food sold in traditional markets. The one I like the most is Sego Gendong. This is rice and side dishes wrapped together in teak leaves. The smell of teak leaves adds to the deliciousness of the food. Therefore, every time I go home I always take the time to buy Sego Gendong at the market.
It's been a long time since I went to the traditional market in my village. This market does not exist every day, it only occurs once every five days, namely Pahing Day. Pahing is the name of the day of the Javanese calendar. The market usually opens before sunrise and closes around eight in the morning. The opening time of this market is very short, so local people are willing to squeeze in when it's still dark. This market is the closest market in our area, so it's not surprising that this market is always busy when it's open. Pahing Market is not only a market for buying daily necessities, but this market is a place for local residents to sell their harvests. Because the majority of local residents are farmers, this market is very busy during the harvest season.
Apart from being used as a place to buy and sell harvests, this market is also used as a place to buy and sell livestock. So, if we want to buy livestock such as goats or chickens to keep, we buy them at this market. Likewise, when we want to sell livestock, we sell them at this market. Actually there is another market but it is quite far away so we rarely go there.
In the past, when I lived with my grandmother, I often accompanied my grandmother to the market. So it's no surprise that I'm quite famous in the market, Lol. But this is serious, when I go to the market, many people recognize me even though I don't know them. By the way, at that time I went to the market just to buy some vegetables and steamed rice, but instead I ended up buying a lot of dawet ice. And what's even funnier is that I only bought a little vegetables, but instead I bought a lot of Sego Gendong and Ice dawet. Actually, I really had to buy a lot because I have so many family members, Hahaha...
That's a little story about the experience of visiting a traditional market in my hometown. Thank you for reading my story and see you!

It is somehow similar to the market we have here in our country. They are also selling some good foods wrapped in leaves.
Really? Where are you from?
Traditional markets is where you can find anything. This market is similar to what we have in the country and ecen the food wrapped in the leaves.
Yeah, I'm agree with you. Thank you for stopping by!
