Of Wine and Cherry Trees: Market Friday

in Market Friday2 years ago

There have beautiful days in my midst, days of a different color, days where I have been wrapped up in my own brand of happiness and joy. Isn't that always the case with the impending Spring? Have you ever been to that place before? Let's run straight into the sunshine of life. There is magic in the air, or perhaps those are cherry blossoms? So, humor me… Just for today; do something fun, and it's okay to be a tad unusual.

A symbolic flower that signifies Spring. Washington, DC celebrates the arrival of spring with the annual Cherry Blossom Festival, which was held last Saturday. Pictured below is a Kwanzan Cherry Tree, with its rose-like layers and pink blooms.

I was taking in the beautiful sights as I wandered the path that would lead me to the winery, one that I had brought you to last summer. It is a fairly new one in winery years, but, they are proving to have just the right amount of character in their grapes to hit all the right buttons. It is the five basics: sweetness, acidity, tannin, alcohol, and body. I am not as discerning as your average wine enthusiast. My palate is much more forgiving.

It is no secret that I like to support this winery. One of my daughters works in one of their wineries (they have three and several under different names) part-time and she loves learning the process and all about running a winery and growing grapes. It has been a great experience for her and she is surrounded by good people. Let's be honest here. Along with all that fun, and money too, she gets a great discount, which is extended to your immediate family. That is me! Win-Win.

Today is #MarketFriday initiated by @dswigle (Denise, that's me!!) Join me as we share our markets across the globe. I always look forward to seeing what you send me! It is amazing to see the different markets and cultures of our friends here on Hive.

Spring has been intermittent and terribly unpredictable this year. The temperature fluctuations were unprecedented for me. A little over 80F (27C) one day and 50F (10C) the next. This was not just one day, but, since the middle of February. Spring would exist briefly, then have a wintery mix of cold and colder. My first round of cherry blossoms were popping out, with a few flowers showing and that is when the temperatures plummeted and it froze. We haven't had much of that all winter and yet, it waited until it would count. It has been weeks since that happened and somehow, we have survived and rolled into a semi-permanent state of spring-like weather, along with the added bonus of seasonal allergies that blew in with it. It doesn't affect me, but it is a challenging time of year for those with the affliction. Anyway, back to the wine! We are here at the winery to pick up a bottle of the grape.

cherries 1.jpg

The property must have been in a colder part of the city, in general, the blooms are not as densely packed as they should be, and yet, they are almost in full bloom. I have to guess that it had earlier buds that were frozen. Pictured above are the most popular cherry trees in the area, the Yoshino Cherry Trees They are very simplistic with their five petals, all in white. I feel like I need to insert a tag for #alwaysaflower to gaze upon.

On the day that I was here, only weeks ago, there were six minutes of snow flurries! Look beyond the green hedge and you can see the snow coming down. This is more than we got all winter, the sum of the accumulation was zero. It melted minutes after it hit the ground. All six minutes of it. It made me a little nostalgic for about a moment. Okay, the feeling is gone. Perhaps if it had been two months ago, I could really mean it, but, it is on the fringes of Spring. Hello, goodbye snowflakes!

bullrun.jpg

There is an old delivery truck from days gone by. It sits quietly by the entrance to the winery, looking ready to roll into action. I have not inspected it carefully to see if it is restored or replicated, so next time I go, I will make a concerted effort to check it out. Or I just might ask the owner. He is a die-hard history buff, so I can just imagine him tracking one down.

I needed to pick up the bottle of wine, giving me a good excuse to walk through the property and enjoy the season in progress. There are many cherry trees here and their blooms have such delicate beauty, A perfect treasure, this day is. The charm of the view continues to delight these eyes.

cherry blossom hanging.jpg

They just bottled their Rosé wine and have it ready for pick up for the club members (which I am not) or for sale. The wine is priced at $34.00 a bottle and with the 50% family discount, it was $17.00

Wine $34.00
50% discount $17.00
Tax $1.02

Total Due $18.02

Rosé is a type of wine that incorporates some of the colors from the grape skins, but not enough to qualify it as a red wine. It may be the oldest known type of wine, as it is the most straightforward to make with the skin contact method. The pink color can range from a pale "onionskin" orange to a vivid near-purple, depending on the grape varieties used and winemaking techniques. Usually, the wine is labeled rosé in French, Portuguese, and English-speaking countries, rosado in Spanish, or rosato in Italian.source

So much to love in this post the gorgeous blossoms, and then that cool winery, love the old wagon and cool details, I was never much of a wine drinkers myself used to prefer beer, but visiting wineries is always such fun

her eis my almost perhaps Market Friday post for this week

https://peakd.com/hive-194913/@tattoodjay/ernestina-morrisey

For me, cherry blossoms and daffodils, tulips - well, you get the point. Spring is all about flowers and blooms. It just wouldn't be Spring without them.

I really like how the winery/vineyard uses the historical site to teach history with their tours and make good use of the land by growing the grapes there. I am now really curious about the wagon. :)

Well, there is a brewery a couple of miles from here. They make kick-butt craft beer, but, you don't drink that anymore either... Wait! You don't have any bad habits anymore? I better clean up my act!

Thanks so much for supporting #MarketFriday! You are awesome!

#MarketFriday loves you!

Ohh yeah I know how you love flowers and blossoms :)
That is great how it snot just a winery but also an educational experience

I have slipped a beer in the odd times we go out for a meal, but just one these days, and do not worry I do still have bad habits LOL

I love the mix of spring-winter, cherry blossoms, and wine, an unexpected combination.
This spring in Washington DC is so much like spring in Bucharest, if I hadn't read your posts I would never have known we had a similar climate.
I too would love to work in a winery or have my son work and have a discount (although my son would enjoy it more because he loves wine too much...).
Wine is more expensive at your place, at ours, a good wine costs $10 -15.

Gorgeous cherry blossoms!

That settles it! I am moving to Bucharest! :) I like good wine that doesn't cost you your firstborn child.

I realized I was going out on a limb with the Spring turning to Winter, cherry blossoms, and the unexpected visit to the vineyards - all to catch more cherry blossoms in a different environment than downtown.

My daughter works part-time at a winery close to where the school is and part-time when she is here. Works well for her and for me! :) The discount is nice and I get it whether she is working or not. Nice, right?

I do love that yours is much better priced. I can get it at the store here and it is much less and the wine is decent, but, this is straight from the barrel right then. I have been to tastings there where it comes right from the barrel, the glass is put there! That is kind of cool. :)

Cherry blooms are gorgeous, magnolias Part ll is next!

#MarketFriday loves you!

magnolias.jpg

Wine straight from the barrel is obviously better. I'd prefer the same. I actually have a friend who makes wine at home, it's the one with the country dogs, but I'm not drinking alcohol now until I solve (hopefully), my new old health problems.
Glad you can enjoy the company of good wine!

Wine from the barrel is good, I agree. I remember that they grow their own grapes. The ones with the amazing kitchen, are made specially to care for their dogs.

What is going on with you? It is the same trouble as it was last year? (actually the year before?) Where you had to go to the hospital to have a procedure done? I know you have had a difficult year, but, wasn't sure what was going on.

Feel free to DM me on discord dswigle#3637

Wine, flowers, discount on wine, wineries, blossoms,...it's all I would want in life. I always thought as a kid it would be ideal to work in a candy factory but heck ya, in a winery as an adult would be where its at.😄

I used to go to the Niagara vineyards back in the day, but now I live in Quebec and don't have a car but I do have a corner store with crappy wine across the street. Also a wine and liquor store on the next corner. No blossoms though.😌

Thanks for a glimpse of beauty and romance.

Haha! See? Isn't that every kid's dream? As far as adults, we start getting picky. Winery or perhaps Brewery or even a Distillery... But, I am with you. A winery would be premium. I hope there are free samples like this one!

I think vineyards are great, but, they are pricier than the liquor stores, but, it is fresh out of the barrel! Did you like Niagara vineyards? I think Canada is really starting to spread its wings as far as the wine industry. I know that have vineyards, but, they are getting better and better at it.

With some 100 wineries and over 150 microbreweries, there's reason to say “cheers” in Québec! We have well-established microbreweries in most regions and over half our wineries are located in the Eastern Townships and the Montérégie region.

Yay! It really is growing! Rotgut wine. I'll split a bottle with you. There have been days when that wasn't so bad. But, without flowers? That is almost a dealbreaker! 😄

Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving your words. XO

It must be fun and very interesting to work in a winery. I would have loved to do it when I was young, and now I would love to have someone close to me doing it that would allow me to have good discounts, hehe.

I love those cherry blossom trees. We don't have those here. And reading you about the crazy weather these days, here it has been no different, we have a drought that has lasted longer than usual and because of it, the Araguaneys have hardly bloomed when we should be full of yellow flowers.

This is my participation in this week's Market Friday.
https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@coquicoin/cat-grass-and-some-shopping-at-the-nursery

Have a lovely weekend 🌸

It is her second job. She works there part-time when she has time. It is fun and she has learned so much about making wine and growing grapes. The discount is pretty good too. She doesn't drink though, so I have to give the discount some use. They even give me a discount when she isn't there. Nice!

Wow! Everyone in every part of the world has said their weather is crazy. Our cherry blooms started blooming almost a month ago, then it got colder than it has been all year. What???!! So, it froze some of the buds and the trees are not very full. You would think they are full, but, I know they are not. Now tonight, the wind is blowing and it will probably blow a lot of the blooms off.

Well, I did get to see them. :)

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your words and dropping your link. Have a fabulous weekend!

That looks wonderful, @dswigle. I love wineries! Wow, I wish one of my kids would work in a winery and could get me a discount! We have a winery near us that has a place where people can bring a picnic, and I’ve gone there on several occasions with my book club. So fun in pleasant weather! Can you do that at that winery? It sounds like it was a bit chilly when you were there, so maybe not an option now.

Enjoy the cherry blossoms! As I recall they are very short-lived.

Here’s my MF link: https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@jayna/market-friday-beach-shops

The cherry blossoms have also started to bloom here in Japan! They’re so beautiful and so are the flowers in your area!

Lucky you! Would love a discount! There was a time that my partner and I had been trying and buying a lot of different wines. There were so many different kinds, different fragrances and different bodies. I’m still no expert so learning about the meaning of Rosè made me so happy. I love its sweetness so lately I’m more inclined to drink it than a Red wine.

Happy #MarketFriday!
Here’s mine for today https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@wittyzell/whats-in-aomoris-a-factory

Thank you! Happy #MarketFriday to you!

I like red, but the rich full-bodied flavor makes me lean toward pairing it with beef. I don't have a very sophisticated palate, but, it goes nicely with it to me.

I like trying different ones also, so that is why I love the wine tastings! You go and pay a flat fee (unless you are in the club which gives you 3 or 5 wines to taste every day) No lie! This is the best way for me to know if I enjoy the taste or not.

If you like sweet, you would like Port Wine. Port wines are sweet, fortified wines that are made in Portugal. White Zinfandel, Moscato, Riesling, Sauternes - These a nice French wines, but too expensive because it is a challenge to make, and Ice Wine is another expensive wine, but this one comes from Canada. Since the water freezes in the grapes, but the sugars and other dissolved solids do not, it creates a wine that is even sweeter than most sugar-filled sodas. Take your pick. They are all sweet and there are lots more.

Thank you for stopping by and dropping your link!

Tokaji Aszu. ...

Oh my, thanks for the recommendation! I screenshoted it so when I go to the wine store, I will know what to get next time 😆

I like the wine taste concept but can’t find one here. I hope I find it though!

I LOVE Spring and I love a good glass of wine as well, so this post is a happy way to start a #marketfriday @dswigle ;) There is something so full of promise in the cherry and apple blossoms. And to see them set against the casks and oak barrels and the gorgeous stone, truly lovely. I hope your daughter's part time job gives you the opportunity for more lovely bottles of wine ;)

Well, tho I've been SO busy this week working on my little cottage, I took time today to join in on #marketfriday, as I've missed it, so I believe I'm to give a link here? I hope that is correct. And Happy Friday and Happy Spring @dswigle https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@donnadavisart/garden-centre-in-spring-market-friday

@donnadavisart It is the very right place to drop your link, in exactly the manner that you did! Thank you!

It is spring break, so everyone is on a break from studying, including teachers. So everywhere is busy and frequently hires per diem or part-timers when they are back in town. The businesses around her need extra help when the doors open to extra people. I was surprised that teachers are hired part-time during their spring breaks too.

Money is money.

I feel the same way about spring. Full of promise, new beginnings, do-overs, and supreme loveliness. You just cannot buy that at any price. How is the cottage coming along? I have yet to restart the projects over at the shore house, but, I am looking forward to it.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your words! It is always a pleasure to see you1

It seems like the weather is acting strangely everywhere. And 6 minutes of snow? If something like that would ever happen here where we live, everybody would be outside...lol! Last year we had snow here in Hillcrest, about 15 KM from where we live, and it made the news😅!

Normally we would have to take a two to three-hour drive to see the snow that falls on the mountains.

I love the delivery truck. It would be interesting to know whether it is restored or replicated.

Wow! That is a nice discount on a bottle of wine! A nice benefit to have with your daughter working there!

Thank you for sharing your visit to the winery.

You'll find my post here.

Six minutes of snow! It was ignored. Haha! I can imagine as it sounds funny to have it snow in Africa, except in the mountains. I can remember running outside in Texas for the snow.

I'm sure it will make the news every time!!

The delivery truck is cool and I am going to find out next time I go. I may need to buy more wine, one just never knows! It is a very part-time job, but the tips are great and she is learning a lot. :) I guess you cannot beat that.

Thank you for supporting the challenge!

#MarketFriday loves you!

No problem with it being a part-time job! As you say...the tips are great and the learning is something that nobody will ever be able to take away from her!

Have a great weekend, @dswigle👍!

True. It is her second job. You know how they should be saving money upfront in life. :) Save now and reap later.

She can live off the tips! No lie!

That is absolutely great! It gives me such a great feeling of appreciation when I hear about young people who are willing to work their way up and start by laying a proper foundation. We so often hear about young people today who think everything will fall into their laps...

That is really awesome if she can live off the tips! It just goes to show what can happen if you are willing to work!

The great South African golfer, Gary Player, always said "it's amazing, but the harder I work, the luckier I get".

Smart guy!!

I like to see them work towards a goal, rather than being expectant that it is owed to them.

I am really proud of her, for taking her time and laying the foundation. Exactly.

I like to see them work towards a goal, rather than being expectant that it is owed to them.

I do agree with you.

You have reason to be proud of her!

I hope you have a great week ahead of you!

we've blooming now as well, and it's charming time!

Cherry blossoms what a sight, fully laden before the blight hopefully they develop correctly to fruit!

Old wagons, hand made casks all add to the flavour of the region, more than one bottle was purchased I hope!

I always fail to mention the fact that the early-blooming cherry trees are purely ornamental. With over 4,000 trees in the Tidal Basin and around the monuments there, I am grateful that the fruit is in the orchards.

The old wagon was pretty cool and yes, the entire region is historical and much about the founding fathers, the civil war, and lessons hopefully learned. I actually only got one bottle but, I still have half a dozen or so at home. :) I couldn't drink it while I was away. I'll be catching up soon. :)

Thank you so much, Joan! @joanstewart I appreciate the support!

#MarketFriday loves you!

Vaguely remember you mentioned in a post many of the trees are ornamental, with fruiting trees in another region, thought this was the region! 🙃

Historical pieces always add to the vibe of a place, glad you bought some to enjoy, in the collection down in the cellar each year slightly different.

Have yourself a wonderful day.

Loved those cherry flowers ! I will look some picture of that festival. And that visit in the winery, it made me really curious about the tastes of their wines... Especially the red one, my favorite among all :) And the name of that place... 😂 Seems indirectly related to crypto world haha !

Thanks you for sharing the Spring vibes and good energy, here is my market article, even if I posted in Pinmapple 🙄😇

I just need to do a post on the different wines and their taste. Of course, not being an expert, my worry is to get shot down by someone who knows better. :)

The wineries are fun to go to, there are always tasting so you can try different wines. They line them up for you in little glasses. It is always a little fun. What is not to love about red, yes? I like a nice full-bodied wine, one that tantalized my palate.

Of course, I am lightweight, so I never drink that much.

Bull Run refers to the Battle of Bull Run, the most historical of all the Civil War battles. But, yes, I agree, it does seem crypto-related if you know not of the battles! I never thought of it that way! Now, I cannot stop thinking of it!

What? You posted in Pinmapple? LOL I saw that. It is a great post. I already peeked through it. Have a wonderful weekend ahead! Thanks for dropping the link and leaving your words behind.

#MarketFriday loves you!

Of course, not being an expert, my worry is to get shot down by someone who knows better. :)

In any case it would be me haha ! I like to taste, but I'm far from being a specialist too !

... so I never drink that much.

Me neither, I'm really a slow drinker and I like it that way, my girlfriend don't drink at all, so that also helps 😂

Dammit, I really thought it was a winery created by a crypto billionaire ! *I'm kidding, I know that this "Bull Run" was something familiar and related to American history, now I'm setup to do more research !

Thank you ! The weekend is going slowly... for the moment ^^
Take good care and see you soon ✌️😇

Now I wish Bull Run was crypto-inspired. Bull Run was the first major battle of the American Civil War. It is located around the winery property (in an adjoining property that is now a National Park) It is approximately 30 miles (48km) from Washington, DC.

We are almost done with the weekend.

Le sigh.

Now I wish Bull Run was crypto-inspired.

In fact, it's a really interesting idea for a short story or a novel about time travel, American Civil War and the crypto world 😂 ! I'm almost tempted to try to write one ^^

Le sigh.

I was a bit in the same mood, even more because I was ill and spent the all weekend in the bed lol. It was hard to go back to work today ! But hopefully, we are already in the good direction for the next one 😜

Be well @dswigle 😘

Beautiful !... and I could use a glass of that about right now.

The white dogwood out front has just a few blooms that have popped. With the gray afternoon we are having here, it almost looks more like snow than happy blooms.

Let's do it! Salut!! I have got some of the rose, what have you got?

I love dogwoods, they are truly one of my favorite spring trees, along with cherry and magnolia. Oh, the magnolia used to be one of my father's favorites and we had two proudly adorning the front yard. We were at his grandmother's house, I was young, not even in kindergarten. She said it was her favorite tree and when she passed away, it became his. They were really beautiful and I feel like I am taking an extra shine to them lately.

It was an overcast day, but, it started out sunny, then by 2 pm the overcast skies showed their true colors and the wind started blowing like a banshee. I can see what you mean about it looking more like snow than happy blooms. I hope tomorrow is a prettier day. The ending was so dismal, I almost forgot that it started out sunny.

We have some happy blooms in our future. I just know it! Thank you for dropping by and leaving your words.

#MarketFriday loves you!

Believe it or not, I don't have any here ! I'm so ashamed ...LOL !

We had a magnolia tree in our front yard at the house I lived in from around 8 years old till 18 when I foolishly married and left home. The blooms were simply magnificent !.... and the boys used the seed pods with the stems as grenades ! What fun !

Yes!!! I gorgot about that! I am drying three seeds out from last year. Someday
maybe you will have another. I hope to find another pink dogwood. 💗 I went trsnsplant it and killed it.

Hope you are doing something fun this weekend!

Thank you for your words and for dropping your link. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

#MarketFriday loves you!

The trees are simply stunning! pink the tenderness of spring! 🤩 it's great when good wine comes with a good discount even for relatives! I love discounts! 😁 snow pleases in winter but in spring it is not suitable. in the spring it pleases when the snow melts, unless of course it was in winter. Yes, the seasons have changed. 😕 I hope the wine was delicious
https://ecency.com/hive-196308/@tali72/fountains-for-your-garden

Good wine with a great discount is awesome! I really appreciate that they do that! They don't have to, but it allows for more honesty when purchasing wine from there.

We never had winter this year (or really, last year) so it was strange to have it get cold a couple of weeks ago as we had been very spring-like for a month. The seasons have changed significantly!

Thanks so much for dropping your link and leaving your words!

#MarketFriday loves you!

this year many of our friends in different countries said that March was very cold

I agree! Everyone from around the world has said it has been an unusual year. My brother lives in Florida and it has been warmer here some days. That is so wrong!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

How beautiful, a real spring! I love the combination of this old wall, wooden barrels and blooming wood. It seems it's time to admire the blossoms with a glass of wine in hand!

My entry for this week:
https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@tatdt/coliving-museum-of-soviet-life

Can you believe we had a much nicer Spring a month ago? They it gave way to our first freezing temperatures of the season! We never even had snow or winter this year.

Crazy weather, for sure.

I also like the combination of the old and the new at this winery. It adds interest to an already historical site. Thank you for stopping by and leaving your words and dropping your link.

#MarketFriday loves you!

Of course, it's very easy for me to believe that. Our weather is just as crazy: after the warm days came the snowfall, and there was even more snow than in December!

See? That is just crazy!! We had nice temperatures until late February, then we got the blast of cold and flurries!

I find the cherry blossoms breathtaking every year. The same goes for the magnolia blossoms. They are almost more impressive and their blossom always fades so quickly. But that's what makes them so special.
I am a real wine lover, too and therefore find it very special when you can buy the wine directly from the producer.
We have many wine festivals in the summer where winegrowers from very different growing regions come together. There you can try out the different wines.
In any case, I like your fusion of cherry blossoms and wine and it makes me look forward to spring, which is still a little long in coming. For me, cherry blossoms and wine are two symbols of the feeling of enjoying life.... a great post @dswigle :)
And here is my #MarketFriday:
https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@karizma/market-friday-bunnies-everywhere

Aren't they beautiful? I have to agree with you! I agree that the magnolia is definitely more striking, it takes my breath away. They beauty has always been legendary, just read novels from centuries ago and the magnolia is always fawned over, written about and even perfume is created in its honor. It is hard to not love it!

Aren't wine festivals fun?? It is definitely a wonderful thing here in this part of the US! We have many vineyards and buying them direct is always so fun.

Where are you that your Spring is so long off? Cherry Blossoms and wine do make good partners, don't they? Thanks so much for dropping your post, and leaving your words behind.

#MarketFriday loves you!

I live in the north of Germany and this year spring seems to arrive really late. It has been cold for quite a long time and very rainy and stormy in the last few days. There are also years when it is different, but the weather does what it wants ;)
You can also see it in the spring flowers, which are blooming later than usual.
But we have to take it as it comes... all the more reason to enjoy the first warm days.
I wish you a wonderful weekend!
!LUV

I always fantasize about snow but seeing these beautiful cherry blossoms, I think spring is even more beautiful. I love flowers specially trees full of flowers. Just so lovely... ❤️

Snow is absolutely beautiful, so pure and lovely. Until the next day and then it gets messy, so I will always go with the Spring! I love flowers too!

Have an incredible weekend! Thank you for dropping your link and leaving your words!

Wow… so beautiful the cherry blossoms 🌸 I have to visit that area one day in spring.
The weather is different lately as you noticed so well. And to see the flurries ❄️❄️❄️❄️ very cool. Luckily it didn’t stay as spring needs to continue, no going back to winter.

I love rosé, it’s the only wine I actually drink. Reds are too heavy for me. Hehehe 🤭 I’m a light weight.
That’s a great discount Denise, wonderful your daughter works there part time. She will learn a lot.

Thanks for sharing today this lovely post, I have to skip…😔 getting ready to drive to the in-laws early tomorrow morning after packing and wrapping all day.

Have a wonderful Friday 👋🏻😊 and enjoy your weekend 🌺☀️
Big huggss 🤗

Spring is the most beautiful season, isn't it? After the chill of winter, it puts forth new hope and dreams for the upcoming beauty. We never had winter here this year. In February, just as it is supposed to warm up for the seasonal change, it got cold instead! 😮

The snow was kind of funny. The wind blew in and chilled the air, then the snow flurries began to drop. So unreal looking. Then we had winter for a couple of weeks, freezing some buds, flowers, and even bulbs.

Thanks for stopping by. Safe travels to you and the hubby. Have a great pack-and-wrap kind of day! Enjoy your time there!

Thank you for stopping by and leaving your words.

It is my favourite season… spring. 🌸🌸🌸
You know, I am so glad we arrived in winter wonderland in January up here. So wonderful to see many snow weeks. It has been a while when I last saw snow this much. Love it too as it makes for magical times.

Let’s hope we get a proper spring now and the flowers will pop up everywhere.
On our drive to the in-laws the weekend I saw some tulips 🌷 so pretty. But it’s a bit warmer down south, so earlier flowers.
I started today the tiling after yesterday a whole day of sealing them twice. All handmade terracotta hexagons. None is the same… so a bit harder to put down. But will look pretty in the end.
Thank you kindly Denise 👋🏻😊 will do… we have some nice days out planned too over Easter 🐣

Anytime my friend, have a great evening and week ☀️🌺🌸🌷

Thank you! I hope the weather is treating you well. Ours has its own mind right now!

Thanks for stopping by!

#MarketFriday loves you!

rain is pouring down again today , where last year we had a huge amount pof sunny days it seems this year we will have more rainy days. but atleast the tullips look happy with the rain 😉

these are taken with my mobile to wet outside to use the camera

They look like they are thoroughly enjoying the showers! I love drops on the blooms and the colors saturate nicely with the added effect.

Nice shots!

Now that is a very expensive bottle of wine!! Sheesh

I hope it brought your taste buds alive as it was sipped slowly, enjoying it over a number of days.....

......or was it guzzled in an afternoon?

Never forget "It's 5 o'clock somewhere"

LOL It is one of their less expensive ones. I saved it for later, however, they do have a tasting room. If you join their wine club, you get a free tasting every day of three or five different wines. I cannot remember the number, but, enough to make anyone happy. :)

It is 5 o'clock somewhere.

Neither! I brought it home! LOL

Hey, you! #MarketFriday loves you!

Less expensive??????

I like freebies, I bet there membership fees are astronomical

Smart thinking, Denise!
Why didn't I think about having my daughter or son work at a winery in the summer when they weren't in college?

Salut, my friend! @dswigle

Hello, Nina! So glad to see your smiling face! Hope all is well in your part of the world.

Crazy weather, for sure! After having a Sprink-like February, it gave way to two weeks of cold, freezing buds and blooms, but, it is making its way back to beautiful once again!

Salut!

Oh my God! The colors of these flowers are like heaven itself, a perfect and balanced pink to the eye. The weather looks ideal for that rosé wine that by the way has a very good discount, really, quite convenient 😅.

Love your photos, they are very artistic.

By the way, we leave here the link to our recent post: https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@musicandreview/plaza-norte-craft-fair-a-cultural-piece-of-peru

Cheers 🍷! 😊

I think cherry blossoms have a perfect balance of color and timing of the season. The discount on the wine is a bonus for me, although I only get it because we are related. :)

Such a beautiful time of year when the cherry blossoms come out.

Wine is always good, anytime 😊
$34 is pretty expensive for the US isn't it? Must be a good bottle. Great discount. 👍

It sings of Spring to me. I love this time of year. The entire area is awash with cherry trees and tulips. Daffodils have mostly come and gone.

Wine rules. Except if there is a good Margarita or Stinger (straight up) or... or... It's all good in moderation.

I have gotten them at wineries for so long, I am not sure about the prices. You probably know more than I do about the prices. Most of their wines are around $40 and up. Now, I will check out their stock when I go back and see.

The discount is awesome! Thanks for stopping by!

This bull run remind me crypto bull run heheh. Jokes apart, you’ve shared the beauty of nature, this blossoms showing that spring is right there.

I liked the place very much, you’ve shared in the photo. I wish you enjoy your Friday fullest and share with us once again.

Hehe... indeed! Another bull! Thank you for the words, the wintery is in a beautiful location and they make the most of it.

I hope you are having an awesome week!

Beautifully written post! I love the imagery of the cherry blossoms and the winery. It sounds like a delightful place to visit. The history buff owner and the old delivery truck add to the charm of the winery. It's great to hear that your daughter is learning about the process of running a winery and growing grapes. The family discount on the wine is a nice perk too! Thank you for sharing your experience and the photos of the cherry blossoms. It's lovely to see the signs of spring and the beauty of nature

Thank you so much. The cherry blossoms there are staggered so that there are blooms throughout the beginning of Spring. The owner of the vineyard is a real history buff - exactly why he chose this location to build the winery. It was where one of the battles of the American Civil War was fought. It has traces of the history and buildings left.

Plus, those beautiful cherry trees.. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your words.

#MarketFriday loves you.

My first round of cherry blossoms were popping out, with a few flowers showing and that is when the temperatures plummeted and it froze.
The same happened to us last year; the price of apricot and cherry was expensive. This year unexpectedly hot spring. Something is wrong with springs))

We never had a winter and we had an early spring, then it went away for a few weeks and froze everything.

Global warming, yes?

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you are having a great week!

Thank you we love #MarketFiday too))

Unfortunately I haven't had any walks so I haven't brought a post, but reading your post is a complete joy, it's very relaxing to read a post where you only talk about flowers and wine, with the concern that spring is being very wintry.

Well, I bought the wine, so it is a contender for a post. One of the reasons I give guidelines for people that might be reading your post. I don't go shopping for food hardly ever, but that is only to show people that there are other ways to be involved. I love markets, so it is a great way to participate. Plus I learn so much about different cultures!

#1 Go to any type of market, or anywhere where you pay money for a service. It can be a museum, a movie theatre, or an auction. Be creative!

#2 Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy?

I appreciate your kind words. And the winter? Yikes!! It is spring and it is now acting crazy!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving your words!

Yes, I had understood that any service for which you have to pay serves as participation for the #marketfriday, and very important to say relevant things like the story or the price, which by the way you say that the wine ended up costing you 18$ for the discount, but mainly it costs 34$, here a good wine should be in about 50$ I haven't seen the price of those products for a long time.

I showed in the details that the wine was priced at $34.00 and I got a 50% discount.

Wine $34.00
50% discount $17.00
Tax $1.02

Total Due $18.02

I did say that usually, they started higher $40 and above. That was a more inexpensive wine. They are a fairly new winery and I expect their prices will go up in the next few years. They have had really good reviews since they bottled their first.

I didn't get to check out the other prices of their wine.

I just sent you that as many people don't realize it. Thank you!

Yes, I had read the whole calculation and what was the total you paid, I had commented it again because I wanted to compare the prices to how they are here, but now that you mention it I don't know how much will be the price of the economic wines here.

No worries. I am sure you will take note next time you come across it. Thanks so much for the follow-up!

The cherry blossoms are really beautiful and it's nice because it's cold there now. It's summer here, so it's too hot. If only I could do magic and go there at least for a moment to relieve the heat here, I would do it. Best regards @dswigle from the Philippines 🇵🇭.

It sounds good in theory, but, you would be cold, even when it is warm here. :) The Philippines is too hot for me, but, for a few months, I know it is nice.

The way we're seeing it now is a little cold and a little warm, which is why these plants are growing so well. The weather is so beautiful that it's fun to walk around in this weather when it's raining lightly. Sometimes it is sunny and sometimes it rains. This is the special thing about this season.

A 50% discount on a bottle of wine. @dswigle, that sounds fantastic. and that Kwanzan Cherry tree blossoming looks beautiful.
