Not only that, I own one of the wild ones. :)
It is so easy to be generous when you have an abundance! I go there almost every day and take pictures and pick ten stems. Sometimes, like before Easter, I picked twenty and paid the extra - I wanted a nice Easter table. :) People are so sweet and graceful in their receiving the beauty of these vibrant flowers. The older people never get flowers, I can tell. It feels good to make someone's day like that. The moment is touching.
I am with you! Perennials all the way. I usually buy one or two small marigold plants and let them go to seed at the end of the season. (I deadhead them all season) Then I take the dried flowers that have gone to seed and put them in a paper bag over winter. In the Spring, my perennials come up and when I see where they are, I sprinkle Marigold seeds, generously everywhere. I have color until frost. I deadhead and get more blooms and they get bigger and fill in the blank spaces. Marigolds!! You get more for your money and more flowers than almost anything.
But first...lots of perennials!😁
We plant lots of marigolds in and around the garden. Save blooms ✍️
Not the blooms, but the dried flowers. I usually let them stay on the plant until after the first couple of frosts, otherwise the seeds dont mature enough to germinate the next season.
