I'm a day late again but it's ok, our Denise says we can post after Friday as well, so here I am, showing you what artists were up to last year. This year I have no idea what they are up to as there's the lockdown but I bet they are staying active and creative just like me.
To be able to post today, I had to scroll through my folders to see if I can find some photos from last year's markets that haven't been posted yet and lucky me, I was able to find a few.
Made Of Cord
This is an old technique in my country, this cord was usually home made, so obviously it was a good material to use. It's durable, no need to worry about breaking it or wear out and you'll be surprised how many things you can do with it.
These are mostly wall decorations featuring animals, but most of the times flowers, or dolls. It's a particular art that keeps you closer to nature as the raw material is natural, not artificial.
At a closer look you can see the artist used wooden sticks for the artwork. This is what they usually do as otherwise it would look bad.
Take a look at the second photo as look at that handmade, hand painted ceramic bell. It's so cute, I love it! That is also specific to this region. I'm thinking of buying a wall decor like this, or better yet, make one myself. I'm good at learning new things and cord like this is available, plus I can get my hands on wooden sticks as well. What a nice project 😃
Look at this, it's a tree made of cord, decorated with crochet angels, also handmade. The cord it's made is on the ground next to the tree.
Wooden Art And Brandy
Although the main focus of the photo should be the brandy, I'm not concentrating my attention to that but to the wooden sculpture that serves to serve drinks. Funny, isn't it? It's an old village man with a pipe. The artist did a great job, most of the elderly village men look like this guy. It's very original.
Ok, I must say a few words about the brandy as well, can't leave ot without a comment.
Brandy made of pear, apple, quince, blackcurrant, cherry, and wild cherry. The package is exceptional and if you're well off to buy the wooden with 6 bottles, you'll have a nice present to yourself or to someone you appreciate. It would be a nice gift, even though it's not for me.
There were these little glass carafes that you can hang around your neck so you don't lose it. It was funny.
This is a different kind of wooden art. Different kinds of wooden spoons and forks that were used once by almost everyone as they didn't have anything else. I must admit, wooden spoons are still used, I have quite a few myself.
Among the wooden utensils you can see the wooden tap that is used with the little wooden barrels.
The other interesting things you can see here are the little wooden buckets. These here are only for decorative purposes but once these were used when milking cows.
Between the two there's a wooden flask that served to carry water or brandy. Those were very popular.
Finally, the barrels made of wood, that you can use to store brandy. Depending on the wood they are made of, you can get a brandy with special taste. I know mulberry wood is very sough after and expensive too as it's very good for this purpose.
Honey
There's no market without honey, which is very popular around here. You can choose between coriander, manna, acacia, polyflora, and can buy pollen as well. Pollen is good for boosting your immune system. I bought some last October and was good. Why buy vitamins from the pharmacy when you can get it from nature, right?
I love honey and always have some at home. There's a family where my dad lives, they are trustworthy, I know they have quality products at a reasonable price, so I'm buying from them. Lately however I'm buying colza or rape honey as that's the only one that is not causing stomach acid.
There were a few happy bees as decoration, these were so cute, it makes you smile and maybe buy something.
This is my entry to #marketfriday hosted by my dear friend Denise, @dswigle, and my first post to the Market Friday community.

I like the honey products, perfect for a hive mascot :-). Too bad the farmers/crafts markets might be closed this year :-(
Sorry, I forgot to reply to you. Yes, unfortunately this year markets are not permitted much. I hope it will be allowed towards the end of the summer but who knows. These people are hit hard, not having much possible to sell their products.
Oh, you always make me smile with your entries! Probably because I like them as much as you like visiting them!
The home made cord is something my mom was always working with years ago. She made some pretty neat stuff with it, but, the things I remember most that she loved doing was making hanging baskets from it or hangers for pots. They were amazing looking and that is what yours reminded me of. I loved those little glasses and even though I drink little, I think I might like one. :)
There is absolutely nothing like the wood and I love the little guy with the pipe and those brandy barrels. The honey? I have a good friend who has hives and he is my honey supplier! I love it and I love most of the honey I have ever tasted!!! What a sweet post!!! Buzzz!

I know those hanging baskets and have always loved them but have never took the time to learn how to make them. I guess it's not so hard. Maybe one day, who knows?
Thanks again for your support and determination. I'm looking forward to the next edition and hoping I can still find a few photos in my folders that were not used yet.
Have a nice day 😊😘
