A stroll around Covent Garden for #MarketFriday Part 2

in Market Friday2 years ago

Friday, 7th of April 2023 [57]

A few weeks ago, I posted the first part of my stroll around Covent Garden in London. Of course I went over the top with the amount of pictures I took and you know that once I start talking, I love to talk a lot, so I had to split it into 2 parts.

Today we’re back here for part 2.

No idea what’s inside this shop or if it even is a shop, but since it says Covent Garden, I though it will be a good opening picture to remind you were we are:

For Arts Sake got me a little confused. I was expecting to see some paintings of sculptures maybe? What I found were lots of designer glasses. I mean, it’s London. People love desinger everything, so I guess glassez are seen as a form of art too.

Me? I’m not too bothered about glasses. My eyesight is perfect and I have my favourite shape of sunglasses too, which I can buy for £10 from most shops, so I didn’t even go inside.

From the main hall we came to the crossroads, where we had too choose between 2 further entrances to different halls. We picked the Northern Hall and Apple Market.

Maybe on other occassion we will also explore Southern Hall and lower Countryards. I bet it will have nothing with the country 😉

Before we went to Apple Market I had to stop by the tea shop though. Tea is such a British thing.

Inside this boutique you can find all kinds of tea. There sure is English Breakfast as well as Earl Grey, but I didn’t really look closely at the labels.

For undecisive ones there are even tasting stations. I just stood there for a little while, soaking in the atmosphere and watching people delighting in the taste of the tea.

Of course, all are packed in beautiful boxes, ready to be gifted. My mum loves Earl Grey. She says that from one bag she can brew the whole jar and it still tastes great.

My brother and I both took this to heart and always bring a box of Earl Grey with us when wr go to visit our parents back home. Last time I noticed she has a stash of teas to last a year or two 😂

No more tea for you, mum!

What does E&E sell? Not mobile services that springs to mind. It’s jewelry shop! First I noticed the golden deco though and it’s really what sparked my interest.

And more jewelry next door, in Missoma. ‘Sweetest treat’ slogan confused me again. I came to conclussion that the purpose of Covent Garden shops is utter confussion of the buyers 😂

And here a kind of shop I really like. Full of beautiful things that you just want to have around you.

No matter whether you’d use these or not, you just want them, because of how pretty they look. Or because of how pleasant all the dispays are.

You just wanna go in and admire. Or stay outside and take pictures to remember, like I did this time.

And finally we’re in Apple Market!

Surprise, surprise! There are no applez here 😂

It is as crowded as street markets back in Poland though.

And the construction of the building is something to admire too. Modern and old mixed in under one roof.

Here too you can find lots of stalls with jewerly.

Most likely much cheaper than in the main hall and some maybe even hand made by the sellers.

Plus some other pretty things. Also the kind of things that you want to have around, just cause they’re so mesmerising. Things that later on I’m swearing at when I have to dust them regularly 😉

And of course lots of souvenirs for those just passing by London on their vacation.

Those who have had enough of shopping can just grab a drink and sit around, soaking the atmosphere.

As we’re almost walk out of the building, my friend’s face lit up brightly. At first I didn’t notice what she’s greening at.

Then she pointed it out and we laughed and laughed. I really need this for my office to deterr my new boss from visiting us!

Ok, just one more stall with some hand made bracelates and we’re out of here!

Outside I asked Laleh to present her sneaky buy from Penhaligons. If you read part 1of this trip, you’ll know inside there are some nice smelling things 🥰

Then off we go ro find some quieter place where we can sit down and bask in still rare sunshine.

We walked past a place with some delicious cakes.

But there was no sitting area outside, so we just window shopped and moved on.

A few more London buildings for you to admire in peace…

Before we finally found THE place. A tiny cafe on the corner of not so busy road. The gentelmen you see here and his partner were a great company for this little stop.

We ordered some coffee to get ready for hours of dancing ahead of us.

Also a perfect opportunity to check out what’s inside Laleh’s Pentalligons bag! I left the shop to take more pictures by the time she was buying these, so I didn’t know what she got.

It was a beautiful box of miniature perfumes, perfect to take with for our salsa adventures. One of these take next to no room in our full bags, but it’s a sure refresher after a shower we take before the second party 😍

One more shot before we leave this place after a lovely chat with the couple at next table.

And on the way to our final destination, I just had to stop one more time.

A shop with cute and colourful superhero figurines.

The blue one looks just like my fb avatar 😁

And back to bulidings. There are so many fascinating ones in London.

Modern, coluourful buildings mixed with old, romantic strucfures around each corner.

I can never get bored of capturing them. At least in London I don’t get weird looks when I capture… well, whatever. Here everyone is used to tourists and people are always in a rush somewhere.

Ok, time for a closing shot… tourist worthy of course 😉

Happy Friday and Easter for those who celebrate it.

Until next time 💙

Glasses as art...mine eyesight is weak (last checked couple weeks ago) perks of using mobile but haven't got glasses for myself yet cuz I couldn't find any better frame.

Trust me tea is also asian thing....hehe, more like my routine to make 3 cups in a day.

Such a variety in one Placeee... Awesome Pics tho enjoyed it more like doing a virtual tour of market with ya. Haha!

Happy Easter to You! Have a Great weekend ahead.

Mobiles are so bad for the eyesight. I need to take breaks often as I can feel my eyes getting tired. That’s where walks come very beneficial to detach and give eyes some rest.

I’m happy you enjoyed this virtual market stroll. We try to make it a habit to get of the underground at different stops to stroll around different areas of London. I can then take lots of pictures and write about them. I have plenty more to share, just no will to write 🤷🏻‍♀️🙈

Happy Easter to you too fren. Hope you’re enjoying your tea 🫖

I like that signage about no stupid people allowed 🤣.. I feel like I need it here too haha.. We've been to a tea shop yesterday too and saw a lot of English tea and earl grey.. Honestly, I don't like this kind...too strong flavor for me

Haha, that was a great sign 🪧

Earl Grey is very strong, that’s why my mum makes the whole big tea pot out of one bag. I like the taste, but only occasionally. On a daily basis I go for weak decaf in the evening and herbal teas at work ☺️

Zone ends 😅 let's start another zone from there
Blue doll is just like fb avatar but i like the pink one which is in corner 😁
That sign of no stupid people make me little laugh too
Enjoy your Easter dear 🤍

I posted a video of my social salsa dancing in one of my actifit reports 😁

Haha 😂 You make me laugh sis 😂

I don't know how you do it, but I'll point it out again). Whatever you write about is interesting to read. I suspect there's more to these lines than just the words. Maybe spells? lol

I think at the very least there's a soul or something.)

The spells of course! 😁

I have been told the same by a few friends, but I guess they’re biased 😉 They call it a story telling gift.

I’m very happy that you enjoy my writing though. Just as much as I enjoy yours 🤩

I've been to Europe but not London. I need to someday, hey I know this one virtual there :) Looks like a fun stroll through the Covent Garden. I'd be at a table sipping on coffee for how long who knows, lol

To be honest, sipping coffee and soaking the atmosphere is my favourite part. All the rest, taking pics and exploring other areas is for the article’s sake. I’m not very much of a sightseeing person 😉

When you come visit, we’ll be sitting and watching all day 😁
!KING

Haha I'm wondering how many more photos my phone will take. I need to delete but that takes time to. I ran out of creamer this morning did not stop me from sipping though, lol. Yes to watching everyone sightseeing.

Mine can take some more, but some organising is well needed! 😂

Happy Easter!
