RE: What to do on Market Friday ?

in Market Friday2 years ago (edited)

Wow! It seems like you've really had some fun doing this post! It's an awesome post showing what you can come up with and the variety if, like you always say, just think out of the box...

I love the Civil War reenactment. I would love to attend something like that. I love visiting museums and monuments related to our local history as well.

You can find my post for this week here.

I went through my HIVE account yesterday and that is only when I saw that I received Hive from you after a post of mine somewhere around 15 July. I missed that and I apologize for not acknowledging it. But rather late than never...Thank you so much, I do appreciate it!

Oh, don't be silly. I just slide little rewards in now and then and so easy to get lost as it isn't enough to cause a double take. :) But, thank you. You know it is more than fun to do that.

I love the reenactments too. I go every year and try to go to different sites of battle, for a different perspective. I really liked this one in Gettysburg and there is the Battle of Bull Run was the last one I went to. I didn't put very many examples, just enough to give people an idea. I didn't want to bore them to death or cause them to not finish my too-long post! :) Many don't even read it, just drop their links! LOL

Thank you for dropping your link! You know how much I appreciate it! I hope you are ready for the weekend! The image below is the Battle of Gettysburg.

#MarketFriday loves you!

So this is the Battle of Gettysburg you say! I think it must be so interesting to watch. Thanks for sharing this!

It's sad if people just drop a link and not even read your post... I didn't think your post is too long at all.

I felt like I was just really getting interested and I was at the end already. When I saw the word count, I couldn't believe it. It didn't feel long at all.

On top of that, even if you write a long post, it was to everybody's benefit. Someone who struggles to come up with content could pick up on so many tips and ideas from reading your work... And it's not only this post. Since I started reading your posts, I'm also learning with every post of yours that I read.

I take note of what you write about and how you do it and how you structure it. Thank you for the opportunity that you have created here for us to share our work, @dswigle! I appreciate it!

It is actually short this week. :) I am a little eclectic in structure. :) I will admit to that. It sort of makes you have to pay attention as I don't follow a pattern all the time. Crazy, right?

I do hope that more engage, they don't realize how much more pleasure they will get from doing/reading posts if they do. Thank you for your great support! It doesn't go unnoticed!

In all honesty...the length of a post is actually one of the last things I ever look at. Does a post have a message for me? Is it interesting? Does it have any meaning...any impact? Yes, there are times when we need to consider the length...As it is one of the rules you mention too. Posting 100 photos with no written text don't really mean much.

But if you have a strong message and you can deliver it with 50 words...so be it. Maybe next week, you'll need 1050 words to get the message across.

I suppose that is why I enjoy reading your posts. It's not about following a pattern, but it's interesting and it has an impact. Crazy? If people want to call that crazy...well, so be it.

I better stop now...I can write a whole post about this...LOL!

And what you say about engaging is also very true. In all honesty...I want to improve my engagement. I tend to micromanage everything and thus overload myself sometimes (often actually...lol) with activity and then I don't get around to doing all I want to do.

But I'm busy working on that, looking at what I can eliminate in order to be able to pay more attention to what I believe really matters.

Enjoy your day, @dswigle

@jacoalberts See? You get it! The length never bothers me, until this week. I am actually pretty forgiving on the length and what is posted. I had a one picture post with a write up that said basic nothing, wouldn't have thought it was a market post. That cannot be a habit as they teach each other how to do it. Can you make that work? You an, they didn't. There are communities on the platform where that is encouraged and even normal. Most times, it wouldn't be here, but there are the less is best mentality that I am trying to discourage.

Then again, well placed verbage will never go out of style.

I am honestly looking to grow these newbies, stronger accounts make it a win all the way around. It's not a hustle, nor have I ever seen anyonesst that treats it like one. Building takes time and patience, good things come to those that can wait. I also understand that there is a financial need at times.

I think you are doing great and I do understand as I sometimes have trouble making it out of my own comment section.

Thanks so much for your feedback! Hope you are having a wonderful evening!

Everything you say here is making perfect sense. Even about the "one picture post with a write up that said basic nothing...". That is a typical example of having no impact...no meaning.

Building takes time and patience, good things come to those that can wait.

I agree with you 100%!

Thank you for providing us all with this opportunity to share out work and to learn in the process. And thank you, @dswigle, for your support, uplifting feedback, and communication every week!

Thank YOU for understanding what I am talking about!
