Thanks to @dswigle, Friday is that special day of the week where we get to showcase the places great places to shop, do business, buy food, or perform transactions of any kind — giving other people an idea of what like in our neck of the woods!
My recent outing was once again IKEA. I love that place. I probably actually purchase something about one time in everything three or four times I go. But it’s a really fun place to get ideas!
Need to freshen up the look of a room? How about some new toss pillows and a rug? Or if you want to go a little more dramatic, how about some new lighting fixtures?
Another thing that is inspiring about IKEA is the appearance of minimalist decor. It inspires me to remove clutter!
Do you shop at IKEA? If so, what do like about it, and what do generally purchase there?
Thank you for visiting! And be sure to check out @dswigle and the #marketfriday hashtag!

How funny! I was also at Ikeathis week!
We got inspo for our kitchen re-do there. And it's our favorite date adventure! haha I went with friends this week but will be going back for a birthday treat later this month. ;)
Awesome! I've been taking the kids there since they were little. Now sometimes we just go to browse and have lunch. Happy Birthday in advance, @barracudadiaries!
Thank you!!
This is amazing. It seems this place is a place that looks so awesome and beautiful. Hope every house appliances needed are available over there?
No, I think it is mostly furniture and cabinets. People usually shop in other stores for appliances. Two of the top stores are Home Depot and Best Buy.
Oh, don't you just love Ikea? I have gotten some pretty good ideas from there, although I don't go there nearly as much as I used to. I like to change a room with lighting or tables. :) Over time, I have become a pillow snob and only like the down ones. They really last and keep their shape so much better than the poly-filled ones and are worth extra dollars. Unless you are looking for a constant change, then that is the only way to go.
I love walking from room to room and seeing the different little pieces and how they would work in my house. I love giving new looks without changing much in the house. Freshening it up is what my mother used to say. I understand it now as I didn't years ago... she always cleaned, why does it need to be freshened up? This was fun! I hope we got to stop off at the cafe for a quick bite! Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday! I cannot tell you how pleased I am to see so many participating every week. I have learned so much about the different cultures of the world, especially the small things that go unnoticed except by those looking for it. Life is interesting, wherever you are, whatever you are doing.
#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers markets and eventually branching out and evolving over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.

Ha ha. Your the first pillow snob I’ve ever met, @dswigle! That totally makes sense. Buying cheap stuff that doesn’t last is false economy. Thank you so much for stopping by, and for inspiring us weekly with Market Friday!
Have you ever noticed how flat those pillows get? Down pillows last so long, I wanted to give a couple away!
