And she's back! Yup, the one who started #MarketFriday, @dswigle. Check out her latest Market Friday: Cruising into the Next Week to check out what she has been up to and of course the rules of this challenge.
For my contribution this week, it's about purchasing a new keyboard, not a musical one, but rather peripheral for a computer.
Hello, says a piece, the latest one that came popping out the other day. Can you guess what letter that is? Almost all the letters on my keyboard faded away and some have been erased. When that piece popped out, it was the last straw for me to finally purchase a new one. I think my keyboard was begging for me to replace it.
So, I finished my tasks that day and went to the mall to buy one.
While there, I checked out what has the mall in store in celebration of the flower festival we are having here in the city. Here's a quick look:
Check out the Pandegka Art Exhibit and Impakabsat Trade Fair happening at the mall. Thanks again for continuing to engage on my channel.
By the way, the Grand Street Parade and Float Parade are happening this weekend here in the city. These events are the highlight of the festival.
I wanted to roam around the mall longer but I don't have the time so I headed to the top floor where the computer shops are located.
As always, there are lots of things to choose from with prices starting at around USD3.00. That was the cheapest price I saw at least. I tried asking one of the staff if I can check out some of the keyboards they have. Unfortunately, they are sealed so they are not allowed to open the box as per the store policy. They don't have items on display.
Good thing that I do like my partner's keyboard which was issued by their company. It is soft and more silent than mine. Lucky for me, the shop has the same exact brand and style of keyboard. I didn't bother going to other stores to check because the store I went to is my trusted shop. It is where I buy most of the computer needs anyway.
I wasn't able to take photos in the store because I was busy checking out stuff but here is my new keyboard. My new keyboard cost around USD10.00. At this price, the ones I have bought before lasted a long time just like my last one. I have been buying this brand and I do like it in terms of durability and usability so it's nice to be going back to this particular brand again. I tried cheaper ones but they didn't last that long.
It comes with a manual of sorts printed as small as the eye can read I think. It comes in English, Chinese, Korean and Indonesian.
The one on the left is my old keyboard obviously with the taped keys and erased letters. The two taped keys were the first ones to give out. I think it had been that way for a couple of years or more. I was still able to do my tasks with the help of those tapes. Soon one key would get stuck and then more and more keys were doing the same. With the one final key popping out, that was the last straw for me to finally decide to buy a new one.
While the keyboards are almost the same, it is these functions keys that I have trouble adjusting. I was used to the old one (right). That's why it's an adjustment for me to use the home, end, delete keys.
Anyway, from the mall I then dropped by one of the bakeries here that I like their cheese pan de sal. However, I saw their pan de coco and bought that instead.
This is bread with coconut filling in it. I was already skeptical when I saw the price PHP94.00 (USD1.70) for seven pieces. Pan de coco is a bread filled with grated coconut cooked in sugar. This one, however, is like a custard filling. You can taste the coconut in there but it's not as filled as the ones I buy from other shops. The bread is soft, too soft actually it's like biting on air. Too pricey and not worth it for it is not satisfying. But that's just me. I have tried some of their pastries and bread and that is one bread on my list I am not going to buy. Other shops sell that for PHP10.00 a piece. I can buy just four of five pieces and I am satisfied.
So that was yesterday.
Today, we went out for lunch. We first went to a restaurant we frequent but because there were lots of customers we decided to transfer to another one instead. No photos there unfortunately because I forgot.
From there we checked out another restaurant to buy food for later but found out a new business is now in its place. We ordered beef hotpot for dinner (again no photos).
While waiting, we bought ice cream from the Korean store across it.
These cost PHP170.00. We do like these Korean sandwich ice creams. I like the soft bread that holds the milky ice cream. Refreshing sweet goodness for a hot day like today.
So there goes my #MarketFriday for this week. Leaving you now with #alwaysaflower that adorns this jeepney.
The banner says Libreng Sakay which means free ride. If my guess is right, this jeepney is sponsored by the brands on the banner in time for the flower festival.
Or maybe these ones on a cellphone holder. This is one of the crafts of my friend on display at Impakabsat Trade Fair. I didn't know they were there that time. I was fortunate to catch her that time as it was their last day of display and another batch of artisans will be there the next day, which is today. Each week, new batch of traders will be there at the mall. You can check out their shop on their page Roby's Pick.
Have a great weekend!

Congrats on your new purchase! Logitech brand is a good choice!
Great buy…
And those deserts do look so delicious. 😋
Have a wonderful weekend 👋🏻😊
Hello! It looks like you made a good buy. I think I would never get a keyboard here for 10 dollars or less.
Those Korean ice creams look delicious.
And I can't wait to see the pictures of the flower festival that I'm sure you'll be doing anytime. It must be beautiful.
Happy weekend!
