I know this will be an early #MarketFriday entry but I’m afraid I won’t be having enough time tomorrow that is why I decided to create and submit this blog now. It’s around 3 hours before Friday here in the Philippines so it might just be okay.
Anyhow the theme of this blog is the Lunar New Year or what we commonly call Chinese New Year, the most important holiday in China and Taiwan.
Chinese New Year is also celebrated worldwide or in countries where there are population of Chinese especially in Southeast Asia which includes our very own Philippines, Brunei, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore.
This is the reason why when you go to a mall here in the Philippines, you will find a display of things or foods associated with the Chinese New Year if not some amazing decorations.
So when we went to a mall for some important reasons I notice the Chinese New Display so I took photos, what was in my mind was to share those pictures here on #MarketFriday.
We also checked the wine section as I just received a present from a good friend of mine during the christening of their newborn child, I was very curious to know the price of one of the gifts inside the box, it was a Tennessee Gin. And I discover that it costs around 1000 to 1500 pesos about 100$ to 150$.
It was a wonderful gift indeed. I was supposed to be the one to give a gift to the baby but the parents give us presents instead.
Anyway, while roaming around the grocery area of the mall I took photos of their fruits section and also checked the prices which are a bit higher compared to the prices of fruits in another supermarket in the city, the one I usually visit every time we need to shop for some grocery items.
As I’ve mentioned we were not here to shop although my wife bought a few things we need at home, just a few of them.
So when it was time to go home, and since its lunchtime so we had our lunch there, too bad I was not able to take pictures of the food we ate. But this is the area where we eat, there are not many people there except for us and a few couples taking their lunch also.
It’s normal, because of the pandemic, they don’t really cater much people or customers as before that is why my wife was wondering if the mall does get their desired profits. If you notice in my photos you can hardly see customers roaming around, although there are very few who seem to buy only important stuff.
Now when you roam around the mall itself, I think our economy is getting better and better now, since I only see very few shops that are close, most of those which closed last year are now back to their usual operation. Hopefully, everything will be back to normal very soon.
KEEP SAFE AND GOD BLESS!
