RE: Market Friday: Chincoteague Pony Auction: Don't Forget to Pay the Lady!

Do people buy those ponies to keep at home or for sports especially those sold to charity and the deserving children?

The weather changed alot lately.
It got really cold so I went shopping for blankets here.

Sort:

Most to keep at home. There were 7 buy-back ponies this year and those go back into the herd. They need to keep good genes going, so they select the buybacks based on the best traits for producing great ponies.

There is the feather fund and a horse is bought every year for a deserving child or family that cannot otherwise afford it. There are funds also given for their care for years and years.

My guy goes to shows and competes in the circuit. It is 99% fun.

Blanket weather in Nigeria? That's cold! Thanks for dropping the link and for supporting the challenge!
