Davis Farmers Market is quite busy. Market days are Saturdays and Wednesdays. You have to come early, or you won't find any parking around the perimeter of the market. Almost always, one has to walk a distance to the market!
This market operates under a Pavillon which was built especially for the market. It draws seven to ten thousand people each week. The market takes about one third of an almost 5 acre on Central Park in Davis on Saturdays.
The market sells all sorts vegetables: root vegetables, leafy vegetables, etc...
Fruits in season.
Fish
Meats
Eggs
Dairy
Bread
Flowers
Honey, olive oil... and much, much more!
I love visiting the farmers' market. It is much more that produce. It is a link between the people who grow the food and the people who eat it. It is a place where we can experience the seasons and the traditions of local agriculture.
After thinking about it for two years, I finally decided to buy a basket. It cost $55 even. I'll show it to you in another article.

Farmer markets are awesome I love getting fresh local produce, and those baskets look pretty cool seems a bit steep but fair if they are handmade , looking forward to the post about yours
It is huge, the basket that I got. I figured I always buy so much,
a small basket just won't do.
I always look forward to the farmers' market here or in our town.
This one is really large, yet small enough that you know the farmers by name.

Davis Farmers Market are just so interesting. There's always something to buy in a Farmers Market. So many stalls and they all look so fresh !

One thing for sure, this is a very friendly town.
They sell only local products... all grown in Yolo County.
Notice the fruits... so different from big box supermarket and industrialized farming where each fruit and vegetable is perfect!

That's one lovely market. We don't have a nice big one locally, just a few smaller scattered ones. There is a really nice one about a 45 minute drive away that I wish I was closer too. I always want to buy too much when I go.
