Market Friday its beginning to look a lot like Christmas
This is the one tag and challenge that I always make a point of joining, and also look through the posts of others that join the challenge and seeing markets from all around the world.A post for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle, if you haven't followed her yet you should she is one of the kindest and most supportive people here on Hive, a comment from her is like a ray of sunshine on your page.
For this weeks post, I am again in the Dartmouth mall where I go most mornings these days to get my steps in, and knowing how much Denise likes Christmas, I thought why not share a few shots of some of the festive decorations in the mall, now not as fancy as those I saw each year in NYC, but still a Christmas feel which I know is her favorite time of the year.
Starting with this shot of the little grotto in the mall where people can have photos taken with Sant, well not just people but will get to that later

OK here is one of two rare selfies of me one of the window displays by a jewelry shop in the mall, and you can faintly make me out in the background

and another window and semi selfie, these windows make me think of the Tiffany Windows in NYC, I must admit I do not miss my walks around NYC as much as I thought I would when I retired, I think after stopping working there I have slipped back into the country boy I grew up as and don't miss the big city much at all, but I will admit perhaps what I miss most is the yearly tradition catching all the trees and festive displays

I think here and in many places around the world no Christmas decorations are complete without some poinsettias on display

and these little displays are above us all around the mall

I mentioned the photos with Santa, here is one of the signs advertising it

But I am not sure i have seen or noticed these kind of photos with Santa Before Pet photos with Santa, I wonder how many do that with their pets

I like all these decorations as well as your selfies 😉 They look nice and stylish and not so overdoneas some shops decorate their windows.
I wonder what my cats would do if I would take them to a Santa for taking photos with him 😂 lol

Selfies hidden in windows always fun teaser, then the pet parade photography with Santa wonder who sits on his knee?
Keeping Denise happy with all the pretty windows, agreed nothing compared to the city photography, interesting and still very festive.

First time seeing pet picture with Santa too... there seems to be a niche for that I guess... lovely pics, I could feel the festive atmosphere
Yeah I guess they must get customers, some people no doubt love the idea
I have some more festive shots but saving them for next week just before Christmas day
I think I am one of the few that actually enjoy going out shopping to various malls during the Christmas season. It isn't so much the actual shopping that I enjoy as much as the entire vibe around it, the decorations, people hustling and bustling, music played over the speakers, and so forth. And the window decorations are all definitely a big part of that.
I'll miss NYC for you. I want to go back.

Nice shots as always. I totally understand what you are saying about the City. I don't think I could ever live or work there. I love visiting, but I also love coming back home to my slower pace of life and wide open spaces!
Thats why I was happy with m long commute into the city from Ct, get totally away from the city vibe each day LOL
You are absolutely right. I have never seen @dswigle scold or judge anyone with her words, her kind is rare and I look forward to her warm comments every time.
Am glad you are able to live in a comfortable place after retirement and the decorations may not be exactly the same but these are top notch and the places I live here do not have such.

Looks familiar ;)? Took it on one of my strolls through NYC while passing by. I often walk and just click lol.
Being stuck in rural Germany since, you can say 2 Corona years, I would love to have the chance to do just that right now. At least I have horses around the corner lol. I remember the time where we could travel freely. It was 2019 B.C. Before Corona 😂

Thank you! I love the Christmas decorations! They look so very festive and you know it is kind of happy, making people feel good! You wouldn't believe how many people take pictures with their pets! We have a lot of childless couples or even single people that love, love, love their pets! I actually thought you might miss NYC for the amazing cityscapes, but, your landscapes are equally as captivating. So, I understand.

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers markets and eventually branching out and evolving over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.
