RE: Pentatomidae | Generalidades sobre un ejemplar de chinche del género Chlorocoris

Hi @abneagro
I think we used to call them stinkbugs. Sounds like it...foul creatures :) If I'm correct, they used to hang out on a wild raspberry bush. I remember I picked raspberries once and almost ate one :)

Interesting blog, as always, with amazing pictures.

I hope the holiday found you and your family well. Wishing the very best for you in the New Year, my friend.

Hi @agmoore, thank you very much for your visit and comment.

You are right, these small insects are colloquially known as “stink bugs” all over the world, at home I have too many of different species in some fruit trees. Good thing you didn't eat one of these insects, the stinky liquid that these insects expel as a defense can cause a slight skin irritation (nothing serious). In Mexico there are certain species that are consumed, for example, the Euschistus taxcoensis. In this country they call them “Jumil” and they are consumed in different preparations (even raw), according to what some acquaintances told me the taste is somewhat spicy 😅😅.

This month (December) I decided to take several days off in different aspects, among them Colmena, to refresh ideas and make new plans for this new year. I wish you an excellent new year 2025 for you and your family, I hope the world situation will change for the better 🤗🤗.
