The brain is the laziest organ in the body which is why retraining it can be one of the most difficult tasks to execute. Since the conception of the human race we have always being known to be social beings, individuals who naturally turned out to be introverts and preferred isolation were termed anti-social and weird or nerdy etc, so it becomes a bit of difficult task when suddenly the human race is to adopt a new strategy of human relation to be able to be able to escape infection and save lives. Yes, when the going gets tough the tough gets going and necessity is the mother of creation, so it not anything that man cannot do however we are bound to forget and go back to what we know every now and then. No matter how scientific you may be and serious you would be taking social distancing you may not be able to keep to the 2 meter rule and you end up putting your life at risk. That one mistake could cost you or a dear one a life.
Then there is the issue of nose masks, I was reading an article that came up on my google chrome news where scientists from John Hopkins conducted a test to evaluate the effectiveness fabric and cloth made nose masks that has become the order of the day especially in the African societies as PPEs and clinical nose mask are in shortage and are thus available for only frontline health workers. The conclusion that was drawn is such unless these fabrics had cotton or silk line up within it, aerosols that are produced from our saliva as we talk could easily pass from one person to another irrespective of the nose masks on and these viruses are tiny enough to move with the aerosol. Read More HereThe worry then become how many of these tailors and seamstress take time to line a double stranded cotton or silk in producing their nose masks in their hurry to get their products on the markets to make some earnings. Another issue that came up with the advent of cloth nose masks is when people started to try them on before buying which has also become another means of transmitting the virus should an infected person try it on and change.
Leaving your doorsteps put you at risk of infection, anything you touch from opening the door of passenger vehicle to sitting in it, walking pass others, giving and receiving of physical cash puts you at risks. And whiles the virus is known to be spread only by contact they are capable of moving with tiny droplets of atmospheric water of saliva and thus could be easily acquired. It is after considering all these points that health workers advocate that we should stay home unless it is absolutely necessary that we go. It incumbent on both you and I to curtail the spread by doing our part and staying at home, the virus cannot move unless we move.
What do you suggest one could do more to protect themselves from getting infected aside staying home. Have you been staying home yourself since the inception of this pandemic? Do share your thoughts in the comments below. Thanks for reading and have a wonderful time
