The Person and Journey
Saheed Adewale Adio was born in Lagos Nigeria on August 27 in the late 70s and a native of Oyo State, Nigeria. Yes, I was born in Lagos, but in Nigeria we do not claim the city/state of birth rather, we claim our Ancestral Origin. I attended the St' Paul Anglican Primary School, Ilupeju Lagos. Then proceeded to Ilupeju Secondary School at No. 1 Ester Osiyemi Street Lagos, very close to the house of the former Lagos State Governor - Lateef Jakande.
My Undergraduate
My journey out of Lagos to the Source (according to the Yoruba Folklore) of the Yoruba race; Ile-Ife started in 1998 when I enrolled at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Obafemi Awolowo University. I was to graduate with a B.Sc (hon) in 2003 had everything gone as planned. Alas! I ended up graduating in 2005 without failing a single course during my sojourn as an undergraduate. If you are familiar with the Nigerian Educational system you would understand that Academic staff strike actions and Students unrests elongated a 5yr. course to 8yr.
My Masters Degree
Similarly Maters degree with research was supposed to be finished in 2 years under normal circumstances. Mine was done in 4, although I finished with a Distinction. In my research I generated energy from the combustion of Coconut shells in a Bubbling Fluidized Bed reactor.
My PhD Degree
My PhD was on the engineering of a new type of fluid that can be used in place of water for cooling our machines such as in a car radiator. The fluid is called Nanofluid and the reseach was carried out at the University of Pretoria South Africa.

Professional Accomplishments
I have been a University Faculty since 2007 when I started my career as a graduate assistant and climb the ladder to become of Senior Lecture and soon to become a Professor of Mechanical Engineering. I have had the opportunity of Fellowships and training in different parts of the world such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) USA, ICTP, Italy, and University of South Africa (UNISA).
The Image above shows the time I spent and the MIT, USA doing micro-teaching practice during a train the trainer programme called the MIT-ETT.
In Mechanical Engineering, I love working on Nanofluids and application of nanofluids to real life problems. However, because there are limiting issues with regards to research grants to support experimental works most of my research are numerical based using Software like ANSYS Fluents. I am able to model fluid and heat transfer problems using the Fluent software. I am also proficients in many other engineering and statistical software such TecPlot, OriginLab, Matlab and R.
Everything Outside My Professional Life
I love making digital art using the Procreate software on IPad. I am also a freelancer on Fiverr with the username www.fiverr.com/hdigitals. My Gigs are mainly in to book formatting and publishing. I love rearing animals such as chickens and goats and Sheep in my backyard.
