What an enlightening article! The question still remains - how can this pollution be minimalized?
We can avoid it by strictly regulating those polluting factories in the Philippines.
Can these factories find alternative means of producing their products without the pollution? I'm thinking these factories should be situated far away from the populace but I don't know how realistic it sounds.
Regulations are a big step to curb the pollution but how effective is the the Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999 and other enactments?
This is an open question that a lot of us willing to know how.
They can find ways to optimize their operation that would eventually gives off lesser waste and pollutants. However, only few of these factories are willing to change. Business is still business. The cost of changing a dated process can be costly, and only few are willing to take it.
The laws and enactment are established, but there are no proper enforcement. It is just a piece of paper that can't changed anything. I think better enforcement of laws and enactment will significantly changed people perception towards it. !PIZZA
