RE: Universal Alzheimer! When the End IS The Beginning.

in StemSocial3 years ago

I attended a talk by Penrose in the ancient world (when travels were a thing, before COVID).

CCC (Conformal Cyclic Cosmology) was definitely an interesting (uncommon) idea. However, CCC does not have the successes of the traditional Big Bang inflationary model, and even have troubles with data. The CCC requires the presence of pre-Big-Bang imprints in large scale structures and in the cosmic microwave background. Those are however not there. I put this link where this is explained in details in an easy-to-grasp manner (there is no way to repeat some points when they are already written very well by someone else).

Cheers, and thanks for this blog!

Ahh, interesting. Thanks for the link.

I do see why he has fallen in love with it though, and cannot blame him. I think some of the ideas in it are just beautiful, and make perfect sense.

I wonder if it would be possible to have such cycles where no such imprints would exist. But that's probably a pointless thing to wonder about.

I'll just stick to the conventional answer of "there's no before" at least for "our universe" :p

Thanks for stopping by, and hopefully that ancient world you mentioned doesn't become a myth after a while. As it seems those travel restrictions have become the norm in most countries. :(

Ahaha t hat's an easy way out for this kind of question. But the truth is that we don't know ;)

Me too. I will visit in principle US's East Coast in a month... Let's see. For now, I just discovered my passport had expired without notice... ;)

Oh that's awesome! Whether it's a work trip or a vacation, it will be exciting. ;)
(hopefully the latter, I'm sure you need it. Haha)

That will be a professional trip. Visiting MIT for a week ;)

PS: I have no idea what vacation means ;)

Lol, I can tell vacation is not in your dictionary ;p

This is wonderful! Have a safe and fruitful trip!
