See your kidney like a washing machine that is able to wash your cloth, remove stain, spin, dry, and then send the waste to the sewage soakaway. Okay, the kidney does a better job than this but that is the example I can remember as at now. Tell me a better one if you think of a better one than this illustration since two heads are better than one. It is possible to use your kidney from the beginning of your life till the day you decide to leave this world to any where you think you are going but there can be rare cases of where the kidney decides to pack up and this can be a very big problem but how do you know that your kidney is damaged?
While the function of the kidney is to filter blood and remove waste in the form of urination, if you are urinating more often about 3 to 4 times at night, and almost every now and then suring the day, you should begin to worry as your kidneys might be finding it difficult to filter waste leading it to get damage. If you are urinating too frequently then you should visit a doctor.

Like I said previously, the function of the kidneys are to help filter blood and remove waste via urine. You are not to pass out blood with urine so if you find blood in your urine, then there is a problem. You should see your doctor but that is not the only reason why you would want to see your doctor, another reason would be when your urine is foamy just like beer. Foamy urine is not a sign of good living, it is a sign of protein leaking into the urine. I am not saying your urine will not foam, there is a normal way of foaming where the foam goes away after the urination but if the urine still foams for a long time, then you should visit a doctor.
If your ankles and feet are swollen, then you might begin to suspect the kidney. When there is a swell in the ankles and feet (edema) there is a high chance that the kidney isn’t removing excess water from the body. If you are pregnant or you stand for a very long time and you have swollen legs, you are fine and do not need to be scared for your kidneys but if you are not in this categories, then you need to see the doctor because it can either be your kidneys or some other thing wrong with your body.

If you haven’t been cheated on by your partner, or robbed off your money by a stranger, neither are you passing through midlife crisis because a lot of you do sometimes, yet you keep losing appetite anytime your best food if placed in front of your table, then you need to visit the doctor.
When the kidney is about to fail, then you can start to notice lack or low urination. If you are urinating, and your urination isn’t up to one tea cup, then you need to check your kidney because your kidney is about fail completely. You can aso experience itching and dryness of skin and this is a sign of kidney damage. When the kidney is not able to detoxify the toxins in the body, they can find their way back under the skin causing dryness of skin and itching and when the itching Isn’t responding to creams and soaps, then you should go to the doctor.
One of the symptoms that will be noticed with kidney failure is shortage of blood and this is because the kidney produces erythropoietin which causes the bone marrow to produce blood and when the kidney is faulty or damaged, it doesn’t produce erythropoietin and so causes blood shortage.
Your health is very important and the kidney is a vital part of organs making your body work properly and keeping your health, so if you find out there is anything wrong, then you should please seek a doctor.
