The applications of this technology are enormous, it can transform various industries such as automation of household tasks; Here robots help in daily tasks preparing food and organizing spaces.

Google Deep Mind is already testing security protocols based on Isaac Asimov's famous three laws of robotics:


One, a robot cannot harm a human being, nor by inaction allow a human being to come to harm.


Two, a robot must obey orders given by humans except if these orders conflict with the first law.


Three, a robot must protect its own existence, as long as this protection does not conflict with the first or second law.


These laws laid the foundation for many discussions on ethics and artificial intelligence, in Isaac Asimov's books they do not always work as expected which leads to interesting moral dilemmas and paradoxes, later he also introduced the zeroth law which states a robot cannot cause harm to humanity nor through inaction allow humanity to suffer any.


This law was created so that robots could make decisions that benefit humanity as a whole, even if that meant harming an individual. In the real world this involves developing security systems so that the robots of the future can operate in a safe, adaptable and aligned way with human values.

You know, there's a lot of reasons to be upset about our current reality. But to think we're alive at a time when they've actually started making robots (hopefully for real) based on Asimov's principles is a pretty f-ing cool moment to be alive, I think. Mind-boggling to even contemplate.

If, despite so many things, it is quite great to be alive in this age, as statesmen say, we live better than a king of the 15th century, the important thing is to keep your mind free.

Let's hope they get this right or else many a robot sci-fi movie will become a sci-fi prophecy.

Yes, the amazing and peculiar thing is that they even follow the same patterns as the movies, let's hope that the robots follow the laws.
