Truth is, they are not wrong. 😦 Mosquitoes really do prefer some people to others. 😳 But, before we go into that, let me answer a major question. 😉🤪
What Attracts Mosquitoes? 🤔
Generally, mosquitoes are attracted to the following:
🦟 What u wear: Mosquitoes are drawn to colours like red, black, navy blue and floral. Just as u coverup to avoid mosquito bites avoid tightening clothes as mosquitoes can pierce through them to get to u.
🦟 Carbon dioxide: When we breathe out, that major waste product; carbon dioxide, attracts mosquitoes as well as the latic acid produced after exercise
🦟 Smell: Mosquitoes are attracted to certain smells more than others among these are floral scented soaps, deodorants, moistuirizing lotions, perfumes as well as us smelly feet, dirty socks and body odour and they will use this skin derived chemical signals to find u.
🦟 What you eat and drink: What you eat can attract mosquitoes among these are drinking beers or eating limburger cheese has been shown to attract mosquitoes.
🦟 Pregnancy: Pregnant women are attractive to mosquitoes due to hormonal, metabolic and mechanical (increased expression of adherence factors in the placenta enhances the condition of Plasmodium Falciparium development )changes .
🦟 Body Temperature: If you tend to be warmer than others around you, you will attract more mosquitoes.
🦟 Blood Type: Studies have shown that if you have blood group O, mosquitoes will be attracted to you. oh u think just as men, mosquitoes don't have favs😂😂
🦟 Your Genes: Yes, genetics play a role in how much you attract mosquitoes.
You see, for most of these things, you can affect or change them, 💯 e.g. your smell, your diet etc., but for some like your genes or your blood group, there is nothing you can do about it at the present.
In case you have been thinking that you seem to be more attractive to mosquitoes 🦟 than others, you are not wrong.
But what can you do instead to cub the situation❓
I've got some ideas for you 😋😇
🦟 Don’t go out just immediately after exercising or having a beer.
🦟 If you are going to go outside, wear loose fitted clothing, mosquitoes can bite through tight cloths.
🦟 Wear bright coloured cloths outside too.
🦟 Use mosquito repellent creams, make sure they contain at least 15% DEET.
🦟 Point a fan in your direction if you are going to be outside or when sleeping, mosquitoes can not fly in a breeze that is faster than 1 mile per hour.
🦟 Clear gutters around you, ensure that water in them is always flowing.
And finally,
🦟 Repair torn nets.

I don't really believe color can attract mosquito, I've always known about light and blood type though I'm not sure if has been proven.
