The speed at which our world is changing now is so drastic everything is changing so fast we call it civilization gone are the days when people sit down for hours reading a book or even have a long discussion with family members gone are the days of childhood playground where every child bond with each other I remember those days as a kid we normally gather around one elderly man in our compound then to listen to mood light stories but not any longer the modern technology gadgets have taken over that role everyone's eyes is now on either their phone labtop or television Everyman is now an idol of his own the relationship bond between person to person have been broken now it's relationship with our gadgets even toddlers are already getting use to this modern technology buzz no more reading babies to sleep or baby rhymes by parents the phone will do just that
In as much as there are lots of benefits to this modern technologies as least we can now connect to people no matter the distance yet the negative effect of this devices is getting an upper hand to its advantage a lot is happening with this modern gadgets but on this note I will be focusing more on the effect of the blues light to our eyesight
Before the days of these devices we rarely notice cases of eye sight problems it was only noticeable on our aged parents not even like their lens were damaged but old age has weaken their lens that they now need another supportive lens to be able to read but nowadays the revise is the case young children at the age of 10 15 20 and above now make use of these supportive lens because their eyes lens have already been weaken but have we ever wonder the cause of the new arising challenges funny enough most of these children were born with a very normal correct eyes lens but then something have interfered with the normal function of the eyes which is very abnormal these was the very reason I decided to look into the cause of these defect and I realised that BLUE LIGHTS from our phone and laptop screen were part of the cause of the challenges
HOW THE BLUE LIGHTS AFFECT OUR EYES
√ Constantly expositing of our eyes to these blue light can cause a damage to the retinal cell and also cause a problem to our vision like age related macular degeneration defect
√Also this blue light can contribute to the cause of cataracts this can result when the Len absorbs much blue light it exert a protective effect on the retainer causing the lens to undergo decrease in colour change which then leads to the formation of cataracts
√ Because of the way we have become too attached to our cell phones some persons cannot do anything without their cell phone first thing in the morning they're already grabbing it and the last thing they do before the sleep is their phone and this can cause weakness of the eyes, eyes dryness headache blurry vision watery eyes and strain of the eyes
√ One time my sister complain to me that she can hardly sleep in the night I noticed one thing about her you hardly see her without her eyes on her phone screen the blue light have made the body to stop releasing melatonin which is a natural sleeping hormones because the blue light is deceiving the body to always think that it is day and you know what will happen to our body when we don't sleep
HOW TO PREVENT THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF THIS MODERN TECHNOLOGY GADGETS ON THE EYES
• First if we can learn to reduce the way we make use of these devices and try to create other leisure activities like human to human communication reading offline books engaging in sporting activities the rate at which we stare at our devices will reduce and our eyes won't suffer some of this disadvantages
• Definitely we cannot totally stay away from our phones and laptop but we can at least apply some preventive measures like reducing the brightness of our screen and create some little distance avoid too much glare and limit the use of devices before bed and always make a constant blink while using your device if possible put your phone on night mode and ensure the use of anti reflective screen protector
Generally we have to take good care of our eyes by eating a healthy food quit smoking make use of sunglasses and always make constant visit to your Eyes Doctor for regular check-up
REMEMBER THE EYES IS THE LIGHT OF THE WHOLE BODY LEST TREAT IT WITH ALL CAREFULNESS
