Let's Talk About Headache

How do you know if your headaches are due to a lack of sleep, stress, anxiety, or some other personal matter? Growing up, I suffered from several incidents that leads to chronic headache. Most of the time, you may not be able to see a link between one thing and another, but the fact is that most people experience headaches at some point in their lives. There are diverse reasons that leads to people suffering from headache which ranges from stress, genetic causes and many more.

While physicians have likely discovered no definitive reason as to why we get them, many believe that they are a result of several factors. If left untreated, headaches can become chronic and even debilitating. Fortunately, there are things you can do to ease the pain and make your life easier while also maintaining your health. Most times we complicate our health by engaging to unnecessary stuffs which at the end put us at a very great danger.

What is a Headache?

A headache is a collection of migraine (premenstrual) headaches, migraine aura and post-traumatic headache. Most people experience at least one headache per month. However, a significant percentage of the population experiences headaches that occur virtually daily or probably twice in a week.

There are many types of headaches that can strike. The most common aresimple migraine headaches, also called "mono- or bi- headaches," and severe ones called “dystonic” or “organic” headaches. The types of headaches described here are the most common.

Mono- or bi- headaches occur when there are two different types of headaches, which are caused by different medications, toxins, emotional state and other factors. One type of headache is called a "mono- headache," which is usually the result of an imbalance between two different kinds of brain chemicals: serotonin and acetylcholine.

The “how to” to deal with a bad day is different for everyone. For some people, the best way to get through a bad day is to take it as a sign that they have a bad day ahead. Others find that by focusing on the good things in their life, they are able to deal better with a bad day.

There are many ways to deal with a bad day, but here are some ways that have worked for others:

  • Exercise

  • Take it easy

  • Don’t overthink it

  • Drink plenty of water

  • Eat something healthy

  • Write down what you’re grateful for

  • Take a hot bath or shower

  • Cuddle with their partner

  • Read a book

  • Do something they enjoy

  • Give their self-care a try!

Chronic headaches occur when the headaches develop into a condition known as headaches that don’t go away. They are thought to be caused by a combination of factors, including lifestyle and emotional factors.

Staying alert and taking care of yourself is the most important thing you can do for your health. Over time, poor sleep, stress, and other factors can become chronic and even lead to headaches. Luckily, there are things you can do to ease the pain and make your life easier while also maintaining your health.
