For the past couple of weeks now, I have been totally down psychologically. So much so that my personal blog on Hive has suffered from a lack of regular updates. I know it is just a spur-of-the-moment.
Once in a while, it is normal to feel down psychologically. Tough times don't last, and neither do good times. Once we accept this, we will not be thrown into disarray by temporary psychological demotivation.
Many people have taken permanently irreversible decisions based on temporary feelings. This should not be so. Blue times are normal, but they are only temporary. Stay calm and sit it out.
Welcome to a new edition of STEMng Digest.
Who are we?
STEMng is the Nigerian sub-community of the stemsocial community, a community that has been supporting stem authors on the hive blockchain for about four years now. While stemsocial focuses on everyone irrespective of their country, STEMng is specifically for Nigerians. The best stem contents published by Nigerians on the Hive blockchain are highlighted weekly.
Below are the posts that made it into our digest for this week:
- @cyprianj: The repelling nature of human red blood cells, its importance and the principle behind it: Detailed overview
Our first post for this week talks about the repelling nature of red blood cells. This attribute ensures primarily ensures that blood cells do not coagulate when flowing within the blood vessels in the human body. This repelling potential has a mechanism behind it. Read the post to find out more.
2.@nazam: Climate Change and Global Warming: Saving Our Environment
Many parts of the world are starting to feel the biting effects of climate. Still yet, many do no know what this ticking time bomb is all about and do not give a damn about the environment. This post serves to educate us about the phenomenon. Inspired by a local rally to draw the attention of stakeholders.
3.@ebingo: Anxiety in Smart People (A Twitter Reaction Post)
Do you feel anxious quite often? If yes, how would you rate your IQ level between 1 and 10? If above average, you are definitely a conformed to a research findings that link anxiety and high IQ as explained in this post. If no, you are definitely an outlier. The interesting post says more. Check it out.
4.@bimbo45: The Fashion of Tattoo, and Understanding its risks and precautions
If you have been thinking of getting a tattoo, or a fan of tattoos, this is a post you will want to read. The writer talks about the structure of the skin and how tattoos are made to penetrate beyond the epidermis. The entire article was inspired by a friend of the writer who patronized a quack to get his tattoo drawn and end up with an infected skin. A good read by all standards.
5.@jsalvage: An absolute must!! Microbe-killing surfaces that can be applied to surfaces before they enter the body have been discovered by scientists.
The last, but not the least for this week is an article that discusses a new research about developing antimicrobial surfaces. This is in the continuous quest to tackle disease-causing microbes. As we all know, many pathogens are transmitted via surfaces such as elevator buttons, handrails, etc. If these surfaces can be antimicrobial, it will significantly reduce the incidence of diseases in our community. read on.
And that ends our selections for this week. Do not forget to give the featured posts/authors your maximum support. Thank you in advance.
