Anyone currently in the country that can't perceive the austerity in the economic condition of the people is simply being hypocritical. Prices of fuel have more than tripled, moving from one place to another has become expensive ventures, and prices of goods and foods are at an all-time high.
Talking about foods. The most basic of human needs is food. With food in our stomachs, all other things become secondary. Interestingly, Nigeria has a huge chunk of arable land. So, why are foods so expensive when everyone can plant something?
I think we are just being complacent about the gift that nature has bestowed on us as a country.

STEMng is the Nigerian sub-community of the stemsocial community, a community that has been supporting stem authors on the hive blockchain for about four years now. Asthma! A disease that looks ordinary, yet so deadly. I have read a couple of social media posts about people losing their loved ones to asthma this year alone. I have witnessed an asthma attack, and will never wish that on anyone. In this post, the author writes about a potential prophylactic measure against asthma in the form of a vaccine. Should be an interesting read.
4.@eni-ola: Climate Change Urgency, and a Sustainable Future
"The era of global warming is over, what we have now is global boiling." Those are not my words but that of the UN. If they were to be mine, I will use 'burn' instead of 'boil'. The vituperation by the UN makes this particular post on climate change urgency and a sustainable future more relevant. A recommended read.

Our last featured post for this week is more or less an advice, and this makes it more befitting as the final post. In a nutshell, if you have a health condition that requires regular appointments and or checkups, don't ever skip - thinking you are doing fine. The consequences may be too overwhelming.

I went to Lagos yesterday from Akure with some friends and bought a fuel of 50 thousand naira which was almost full tank. We decided not to use AC, so we can conserve fuel but when we got to Berger, just before Omole phase 1, the fuel indicator came up yellow, and all of us in the car shouted UP NEPA, because we were all looking at the fuel guage till we got to lagos. Gone are the days when 8 thousand naira fuel would take us to lagos, and we would spend only 3 thousand naira fuel though out our movement in Lagos. Nowadays, we board public transport. Bus from Lagos to Abuja is 25 thousand at Iyana Ipaja (price might have changed within the last 24 hours) but taking a personal car to Abuja will cost over 100k in fuel when going and same when coming.
It is very surprising how we Nigerians will still adapt.
Adaptation is not just about Nigerians, it is an inherent attribute of every living organism. Nigeria is not the worst country in the world. Venezuelans have had it much worse than us and still exist today.
