STEMng: Learn to let go of the inconsequentials

in StemSociallast year
Authored by @gentleshaid

In day to day endeavours of an average human, tons of issues come up that tend to draw our attention and consume our invaluable time. I decided to use the word "invaluable" because time is variable that we can never get back - not even when time traveling becomes a possibility.

As a result, it is pertinent for man to sieve, chop, change, and select what he does with he gives his attention to or what he does with his time. Of all the tons of issues that come up daily, some will have positive consequences if we do them while some may have negative consequences if we don't do them. Some brings neither of the two while the worst of them are those that have negative consequences for doing them.

To cut it short, a good time management is knowing how to let go of those issues that have no consequences.

Welcome to a new edition of STEMng Digest.

Who are we?

STEMng is the Nigerian sub-community of the stemsocial community, a community that has been supporting stem authors on the hive blockchain for about four years now. While stemsocial focuses on everyone irrespective of their country, STEMng is specifically for Nigerians. The best stem contents published by Nigerians on the Hive blockchain are highlighted weekly.

Below are the posts that made it into our digest for this week:

  1. @jsalvage: How Biomimicry is Revolutionizing Medicine and Technology
Discover the awe-inspiring world of biomimicry, where nature's wisdom fuels technological and medical innovation. From lotus leaves to geckos, scientists draw inspiration from the natural world to revolutionize medicine, energy efficiency, and even robotics. Dive into this motivational universe of modifications, where science mimics nature's brilliance for a brighter future. Read our first featured post of the week by clicking the link above.

2.@ireti: Untreated Pain that leads to Arthritis in Humans.
Don't ignore the little signs! Arthritis, with over 100 types, can sneak up with subtle pains and stiffness. Learn about common types like gout and rheumatoid arthritis, their symptoms, and when to see a doctor for proper care and management. Read and thank me later!

3.@oluwatobiloba: What Swollen Feet Means During Pregnancy.
Next is a post that every young woman should read. Pregnancy can bring swollen feet, but it's usually normal. Rest, hydration, comfy shoes, and massages may help in several cases. However, it is important to watch out for severe swelling, a sign of preeclampsia, or one leg swelling more, which could be a clot. A lot to learn in here.

4.@merrymercy: Discussing Penicillin and How it Became the antibiotics of Choice
Penicillin's journey from lab to pharmacy began with Alexander Fleming's accidental discovery. But it wasn't the first time mold's antibacterial magic was noticed. The key to penicillin's power? Weakening bacterial cell walls. Mass production was the final challenge. Wish to know more? A click is all you need.

5.@thomisin: Gut Microbiome and The Role of Probiotics in Health and Diseases
Gut bacteria are more important than we thought! They help with digestion, protect against diseases, and even affect our mood. Probiotics, like little superheroes, can boost these helpful microbes. But don't forget, a balanced diet is a hero too! Quite a read.

And that ends our selections for this week. Do not forget to give the featured posts/authors your maximum support. Thank you in advance.

If you are a content creator on Hive and wondering how you can participate in the community, all you need to do would to:

  • Make it as interesting as possible
  • Adopt beautiful layout/formatting
  • Personalize your writing (it is social blogging, remember)
  • Use copyright-free images
