Here is @lemouth for a new edition of the distilled, that is the edition of last week. We are almost one week late, but we are there. I apologise for the delay. Those who know me or follow me a bit should have a fair idea of the reasons. These are good reasons, please believe me. For those who don't know me, well, these are good reasons. In the meantime, here is a challenge: find the reason behind the title of this distilled.
If this blog is the first weekly edition of the STEMsocial distilled that you have ever found, you may be interested in reaching out our community either on chain or on our Discord server, where you will be able to interact directly with all our contributors.
Without waiting much more, let's now move on with the main meat of this blog...
[Credits: @raj808]
Our selections for this week follow the established rule where a single author is allowed to be featured once every three weeks, and posts are selected from the engagement they generated.
Our top choices
The era of personalized medicine and the role of blood components and products in blood transfusion services
I imagine that everyone knows that blood is made of several components. But did you know that we could select those we aim to give during blood donations, without having to donate everything? Aphaeresis machines help us here, and hence allow us to prepare blood products fully dedicated to specific situations. In his blog, @cyprianj explains this in great detail. Feel free to pay him a visit and engage!
Without water there are no birds
As a second choice, I picked a post from @oscurity in which he shares about one of his favourite hobbies: bird watching. He illustrates how many birds can be attracted by some source of water, and how bird watchers equiped with a good camera can just become crazy and manage to get a whole collection of bird pictures. If you are interested in the collection, feel free to pay the blog a visit: dozens of bird pictures are shared.
Cardiovascular physiology - Concept on "Funny Current" which determine the heart rate
Electrical phenomena consist of a major component in how our heart works. @medical-hall explains this to us, but nor only. She mentioned an intriguing funny fact: there are funny currents in our heart. Why are they funny? Well, this is because they have effects that are just opposite to anything else that is on-going in our heart. Interested in knowing more, feel free to pass by this blog and check out its author.
Hirsutism: When Women Have Excess Hair
As a next post, I could not miss this interesting topic raised by @wolfofnostreet about hirsutism, that consists of the fact that hair grows in women as they would grow in male. The reasons behind such a condition come from male sex hormones that turn out to live in abnormal proportion in women's bodies (i.e. in much larger quantity than usual). However, this can be tested and managed, as explained in the blog. If you got interested in this topic, this blog is for you.
Antigravity Muscles-Defying gravity !!!
As a last post for this week, I selected this blog from @sam9999 about antigravity muscles. These muscles carry their name because they help us in fighting gravity and keep us upright. Without them, we would all jsut be like melted icecreams lying on the ground. If you want to know what options you have with those muscles, feel free to give this blog a read.
As usual, all rewards earned on the distilled posts are used to fund the STEMsocial project functioning and activities. The author of the distilled, who may be any STEMsocial member depending on the week, gets 30% of the rewards of this post. Moreover, this week @raj808 gets 10% for the usage of his image, and @stemng gets 25% because @lemouth screwed up with the voting bot). If you like what we do, please consider joining our community on HIVE and delegating to the @stemsocial account (85% of the curation rewards are returned), or trailing it.
We wish you all a great well... week (and not week-end)!
Congratulations to the StemSocial community, it is a very special distillate this week as it values the diverse content of science going through medical science dedicated to human health and not leaving behind the diversity of fauna and how important water is to keep alive its essence.
Greetings and congratulations to the users who were awarded in this distillate.
Thanks for passing by and checking out those blogs. They are all great (I have read them all, obviously) and deserve the detour.
Cheers!
Thanks for highlighting my post
Thanks for contributing to our community! :)
Stemsocial to the moon... gradually setting the pace for others to follow.
I noticed that you play a big role here, attracting a bunch of potentially great new members of the community! Thank you!
I have to thank you once again, @lemouth for this Stemsocial update. I've fallen behind on my blockchain activities and this edition of Distilled highlights for me some of the stuff I've missed.
I'm always surprised that the highlighted articles are not only informing but are also entertaining.
I currently like the way our community his. A bunch of regular authors who provide interesting content week after week, plus once in a while new members appearing and surprising us ^^
Concerning being behind, I can totally feel you here... Hopefully you will be able to catch everything up soon.
Hope my next week is quieter and can go back to write, on the meantime there is always something great to read!
I am definitely looking forward to read from you again (both your regular post or your contributions to the citizen science project ;) ).
Cheers!
This weekend I will make sure I dont start delaying myself with the Citizen Science project taks :)
I am happy to read this, believe me ;)
Hello friends of @stemsocial, this is a great report as always, we are already used to seeing excellent science articles, a great recognition for those of us who dedicate part of our time to socialize some experiences.
So long, have a great weekend.
Thanks for passing by. Those reports are always very pleasant to write!
