In this video I look at some neighbouring countries that have had significantly different numbers of fatalities from the disease, when taken as a percentage of the population. I've looked at Israel and Palestine, Norway, Sweden and Finland, Spain and Portugal and France and Germany.

I would say hygiene plays a major factor in the spread of germs everyday, and no one wants to start this simple practice, go to the nearest fast food restaurant and ask for a copy of the hand washing policy for employees or find it on the bathroom wall, sit there and watch them ignore the policy as they work.
That could be a factor I suppose. Although it's probably the same in most countries.
