Introducing MIÑE 😺 // Presentando a MIÑE 😺 [ENG-ESP]
¡Estoy emocionado por ésta nueva comunidad! Un merecido espacio para nuestros compañeros. Hay tanta variedad: desde los tradicionales perros, gatos, loros... hasta los más exóticos, como serpientes, guacamayos, monos, etc. En nuestro caso tenemos una gata: Miñe.
👆 This photo corresponds to June 10, 2010, the day she was born, in the living room of the house. Her mother, called Ganica, was pregnant with two kittens and we didn't know it. Since we met her she was chubby. So one fine day we came home in the late afternoon and she had these two little sisters in a house (which was obviously for something else but she decided to use it to give birth). The one on top of the other one is Miñe. What a comedian her little hairy legs!
👆 Ésta foto corresponde al 10 de junio del 2010, el día que nació, en la sala de la casa. Su madre, llamada Ganica, estaba embarazada de dos gaticas y no lo sabíamos. Desde que la conocimos era gordita. Así que un buen día llegamos a casa al final de la tarde y tenía a estas dos hermanitas en una casa (que obviamente era para otra cosa pero ella decidió usarla para dar a luz). La que está arriba de la otra es Miñe. ¡Qué comicas sus paticas con poco pelo!
She was growing up and clearly showed her personality. Coincidentally there was another cat nearby who had three more cats and soon they were all together. She was curious, dominant, temperamental, imposing, and she was always looking out for her mother... What else can I say? Ah! It seems to me that she tries to show that she feels she owns things by resting on them. As shown in this image, she lands on shoes, freshly washed clothes, and anything else she likes. In fact, sometimes we have brought a new table, or a box, and she goes to investigate what it is, and soon she is on top of it. Well, we know that will happen.
Fue creciendo y claramente mostraba su personalidad. Casualmente había otra gata cerca que tenía tres gaticos más y pronto andaban todos juntos. Curiosa, dominante, temperamental, imponedora, pendiente de su madre... ¿qué más puedo decir? ¡Ah! Me parece que trata de mostrar que se siente dueña de las cosas posándose sobre ellas. Tal como se muestra en esta imagen, se posa sobre zapatos, ropa recién lavada, y cualquier cosa que le guste. De hecho, a veces hemos traído una mesa nueva, o una caja, y ella luego de ir a investigar qué es, al poco tiempo está encima de ello. Bueno, ya sabemos que eso ocurrirá así.

👇 Con ésta imagen trato de mostrar cómo llegó a ser temeraria hasta el día de hoy. Al ya tener cierta adultez no tolera otros animales cerca. Ahí está el pobre perrito del vecino alerta porque en cualquier momento podía Miñe salir a perseguirlo. Aún hoy tiende a atacar a perros grandes que pasan cerca de la casa. Bueno, territorial entonces.
Of course, he has his tender and sweet side. He knows when we are sad in the house. And he tends to come closer, tenderly lying on our legs or next to us. He definitely knows that he's good for us. Feeling his breathing, purring, and sometimes his little heart slows down your own heart, it starts to relax you, something that sometimes the anxious ones don't achieve. She is loyal, and although not as playful as years ago, every so often she wants to show off her reflexes, speed and even sense of humor by rolling around on the floor and getting attention. Reasons enough to keep her at home.
Por supuesto, tiene su lado tierno y dulce. Conoce cuando estamos tristes en la casa. Y tiende a acercarse, tiernamente acostarse en nuestras piernas o al lado. Definitivamente sabe que nos hace bien. El sentir su respiración, ronroneo, y a veces su pequeño corazón ralentiza el corazón propio, te empieza a relajar, algo que a veces los ansiolíticos no logran. Es leal, y aunque ya no tan juguetona como años atrás, cada cierto tiempo quiere exhibir sus reflejos, velocidad y hasta sentido del humor revolcándose en el piso y llamando la atención. Razones de sobra para tenerla en casa.
What is one of her special skills? Ignoring people...
¿Cuál es una de sus habilidades especiales? Ignorar a las personas...
Where did we get that name? Well, when she was little she didn't have very good behavior. So my wife had to draw attention to it several times. "Look! Get out of there," "Look! What are you doing there?", "Look! Let your brother eat," and so on. And I told her not to scold her so much, to draw her attention more gently. Then she began to soften the words, and talk to him differently, saying something that sounded like this: "Miñe, get out of there", "Miñe, what are you doing there", "Miñe, let your brother eat". So, by saying 'Miñe', even the kitten knew they were talking to her. Well, her name came to be Miñe. How many stories have you known like that?
¿De dónde sacamos ese nombre? Bueno, cuando ella estaba pequeña no tenía muy buena conducta. Así que mi esposa varias veces tenía que llamarle la atención. "¡Mire! Sálgase de ahí", "¡Mire! ¿Qué haces ahí?", "¡Mire! Deja comer a tu hermano", etcétera. Y yo le dije que no la regañara tanto, que le llame la atención más suave. Entonces empezó a suavizar las palabras, y hablarle diferente, diciendo algo que sonaba así: "Miñe, sálgase de ahí", "Miñe, ¿qué haces ahí?", "Miñe, deja comer a tu hermano". Así que al decir 'Miñe' hasta la gatica sabía que le hablaban a ella. Bueno, su nombre vino a ser Miñe. ¿Cuantas historias has conocido así?
When I decided to make this post I wanted to publish a picture of today. We put one of her links but well, clearly I didn't want photos today. In my Instagram I have a picture with another of her necklaces, and other images of her. But I think she made it very clear to me today that she didn't want me to take pictures of her. I hope to have other good images of her soon.
Cuando decidí hacer éste post quise publicar una foto de hoy. Le pusimos uno de sus lazos pero bueno, claramente no quería fotos hoy. En mi Instagram tengo una foto con otro de sus collares, y otras imágenes de ella. Pero creo que hoy me dejó muy claro que no quería que le tomara fotos. Espero tener otras buenas imágenes de ella pronto.
