Miss Molly and Our Busy Busy BUSY End Of The Year

I'm Back For A Few Minutes ..

Or at least that is how it feels. We have been on the go lately, preparing for this and that that surrounds the Christmas season. Work has been crazy for me with all of my end of the year employee reviews, inventory reports, and reports I need to have finalized for various government agencies. It feels like there no time for the family, but we still manage to find a little time at the end of each day to be with each other, before washing up and heading off to bed, just to start all over again.

Where Does Molly Fit Into All Of This?.. She's surviving. Since the loss of her brother and close friend Pepper, she has had to endure lots of change. With him gone, all of the things he barked at or ran off to look at and confront, now are more a part of her world than ever before. Her worries have multiplied. Given the season, there are also a ton of things being introduced into her environment, that were not there for the last 11 months.

Like Christmas Trees..

And More Trees..

And More..

We Are Keeping A Close Eye On Her.. And continuing to monitor both her depression, from the loss of Pepper, and her Addison's Disease. Stress is not a good thing for Addisonian dogs, so we really pay attention to how she is reacting to her environment. She takes a daily dose of Prednisolone, which helps balance out he Cortisol levels.. What the body produces in stressful events (also plays a part in many other body functions). Her adrenal glands (where the cortisol is produced) are not functioning, so we need to supply this for her instead.

STRESSED!!!

I'll just hide behind this small pillow.. safe for now.

When we know stressful events are coming, we up her dose of Prednisolone. Since late September, and around Peppers passing, we have been playing with the level of Pred she has been getting. It seems like I can't find the perfect dose since the stressors seem to keep coming, one after another. This is one reason I am looking forward to the end of the Holiday ciaos. We'll get her all checked out in the new year, run blood work, and hopefully have a better idea of how she is really doing.

Trying To Get A Christmas Photo Of Molly for 2020 ..

RESULTS BELOW

For Now.. Christmas is in full swing. I tried to get a few puppy pictures of her by the Christmas tree(s), but she was having no parts of it. She just ran off quickly and jumped up to the safety of the couch and her pillow throne. I gave up after seeing how she snuggled down hard, hoping I wouldn't pick her up to try again. I may try again later this week for one.

On the other hand, I WAS able to get a few at my cousins house in Lancaster County, over this past Thanksgiving.

It looked funny seeing the photos without her sidekick Pepper in it. I have been so used to his presence, and trying to get that perfect picture with the both of them in it, that taking this one seemed strange to me. Even though Pepper is missing, Molly filled the frame just wonderfully. She's a real show stealer all her own.. And We Love Her Dearly.

We Still Miss Our Pepper

“Such short little lives our pets have to spend with us, and they spend most of it waiting for us to come home each day. It is amazing how much love and laughter they bring into our lives and even how much closer we become with each other because of them.”

About Me ~ The Artist

My art work incorporates a wide variety of subject matter, including landscape, seascape, cityscape, and still life images. My works are the product of a continuing process of exploration through which I seek to portray personal and visionary interpretations of my surroundings. My paintings are impressions of places and events from everyday life, an interpretation of my imagination, and personal responses to what I see and feel on a daily basis. More recently I have invested generous amounts of time into my landscape painting. I am surrounded by natural and man made beauty, which inherently presents itself in the tri-state area, and almost demands that I paint it.

Not everything is art. Art is not everything, but it comes close. Art is everywhere and all the time. Art makes you experience the beauty of the world, the people in it, and the places we call home. Art itself is so influential that it can tell stories, show feelings, and express passion or fury. Art exists in addition to language; expression of sensations and thoughts, revealing a way of thinking too subtle and delicate for words.

For me art requires love, honesty and perseverance. In return, it reveals some personal, non-analyzable, and creative untamed passion. For the public, art with its magnificent beauty, improves mood and health and builds better human beings and communities. It engages the intellect, softens the heart, strengthens the soul and frees the spirit.

Awwww.... :( Molly's expression in that first shot - she looks so forlorn... I didn't realise she's so small until that photo of her on her pillow throne, safely on her couch. I guess you never really get used to the loss of a dear friend, just that the absence gets a tiny little bit easier to bear as the days pass...

Love all your trees - they are absolutely lovely....
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ~ and I hope Molly gets very much better soonest!

Thank you @ackhoo! Molly is a tiny little thing. She weighs in around 6.5/7lbs or 3 kilograms. She LOVES her pillow throne.. no denying that. hehe. The loss is still a hard one to bear, but we are all helping each other through the rough spots. HIVE friends have been the best too. So much support here that has made a huge difference.

Thank you for the tree's compliments.. we love them and think we are up to 12 now. A better chance at more gifts?? lol.

Merry Christmas and Happy 2021!

Give Molly a hug and a tummy rub (if she loves them!) for me! :)

Molly is such a cutie pie, just wanna give her so much love. I am so sorry to hear what happened with Molly, she is having a hard time for sure, She misses her brother Pepper a lot. I hope she will recover soon and will feel better.

Awww.. Thank you @priyanarc for the kind words and support. She and Pepper were inseparable from the start. Where one was, the other was not far away. She, like us, just needs time to heal and smile again. Seeing your puppy GIGI grow and start her life, makes me smile and remember those crazy puppy days. I miss them now. Happy 2021 and stay safe and warm!

Manually curated by ackhoo from the @qurator Team. Keep up the good work!

Thank you @ackhoo and the entire qurator team for the support toady and over the years. I appreciate all you guys do!!

You're very welcome! :)

Very beautiful Christmas trees and lightings to cheer everyone! Hope that Molly would pick up the high vibes too.

I was thinking about my dead cats too. It’s weird I think about them more than my own ancestors.

Stay warm and cheerful.

Awwww... Thank you @kaminchan I appreciate the support and the cheer.

Molly is doing a little better today and hopefully 2021 is a good year for all.

So sorry about your loss. Cats are so cute and we would love to have one someday, but Molly is too needy at the moment. Thank you for the support!

Molly is so lucky to have such caring owners. I love the Christmas shots as well as your devotion to her.

Thank you for the compliments. They brought a smile to my face 😁

Happy 2021!

Awesome shots! Those are some pretty great trees you have there. I know it may or may not help with the disease aspect, but my wife and I started giving our dog CBD chews a while ago and it has really helped with her anxiety. I think I mentioned that before. We also give her melatonin at night to help her sleep. I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas!

I do remember you saying that and I have already been looking into it.. we may have to try it. Just so we can get some sleep! haha. Thanks for the tree's compliment.. We grew the count by 2 more this year so we are up to 12.. 1ft to 13.5ft. A hassle bringing them up and down from the basement, but warm and cozy when they are all up. Merry Christmas @bozz and a safe and happy 2021 to you and your family. I'll raise a glass of scotch to you at midnight 😁

That's a lot of trees! I love it! We used to have one in each room; now we're down to two for want of space.

They're looking good!

We gained a couple this year and are up to 12 now. smallest is about a foot tall and the largest is 13.5ft. Lots of work, but so beautiful when they are all up and in place. They do take up a lot of room and we notice it most when we take them back down to the basement. The house feels a little empty then.

Happy 2021 and Happy Christmas to you and the whole family!

Understand that! With three boys in the house, space is at a premium, and it's not a very large house to begin. It certainly feels larger once Christmas is all put away, almost like a new house!

Merry Christmas!

I wish you a blessed Christmas and I hope Molly will feel better!

Thank you! Happy Christmas to you too. 😊 Molly is up and down, but seems to be on an up for now. I'll take it. Happy 2021 too!!
