Hello, friends! Today I bring you a story of love and motherly feeling between a little Pittsburgh dog and some kittens. But let's start at the beginning. I have a friend, who works in a family home, taking care of the grandmother of the family; in that house they had two pets: a cat and the little Pittsburgh dog. Both pets were the joy of the family, very well cared for. My friend also took care of the needs of these animals and, as she is an animal lover, she was happy with them, because they kept her and her grandmother company.
Until the cat became pregnant, because the family wanted to have more animals at home, at least a litter and so it was, everything was fine until she had the kittens... it turns out that she had her children and from the beginning, she rejected the kittens to such an extent, that she left the house abandoning them, leaving them a few days old. One day, the family went to see them and they found them alone, without their mother cat. They looked for her everywhere and she never showed up. She was gone, just like that, leaving her kittens without her care. Everyone was astonished, because it was the first time they had ever seen a mother cat abandon her children.
Then it was up to the whole family, first to take them to the vet, to be checked and see what they could do to feed them and what to give them for their food at this delicate time, they bought what they needed and between all of them they took turns to give them their food almost like a human baby, every two hours a small intake, according to the doctor's indications, because they had not even opened their eyes. And my friend, fascinated, taking care of them too and of course she shared with me all these incidences and she is the one who has kept me, aware of the new surprises, as it turns out that since the kittens were born, the dog named Kira decided to adopt them.
It seems that since she saw them alone without a mother cat, she took on the task of taking care of them even though she herself has not yet been a mother and here is the amazing thing about nature and maternal instinct, because she lies down for them to be close to her and they even try to suckle from her and stick to her, Although obviously, they don't get milk, but none of them care neither Kira nor the little cats, as they all feel comfortable with that, but it is very tender to see them in those moments and I have the evidence of that, as my friend has been in charge of capturing those images for me and for you.
I see those images and it seems so incredible to me that an animal has so affirmed that maternal feeling, even being that it has not had its own cubs in this case and it is there, where I think that nature is so wise and I reflect, that how can it be, that some animals, have more feelings of love, of attachment, than certain human beings, that it is said that we are the thinking race; clear with the exception of the mother cat that ran away from her cubs, but fortunately, neither love nor attention is lacking to them. ¡Hola, amigos! Hoy les traigo una historia de amor y de sentimiento de madre entre una perrita Pittsburgh y unos gatitos. Pero empecemos por el principio. Yo tengo una amiga, que trabaja en una casa de familia, cuidando a la abuela de la familia; en esa casa tenían dos mascotas: una gata y la perrita Pittsburgh. Ambas mascotas eran la alegría de la familia, muy bien atendidas. Mi amiga también se ocupaba de estar pendiente de las necesidades de estos animalitos y, como ella es amante de los animales, estaba contenta con ellos, pues le hacían compañía a ella y a la abuela.
Hasta que la gata, salió en embarazo, pues la familia querían tener más animalitos en casa, por lo menos una camada y así fue, todo bien hasta que tuvo a los gatitos... resulta que tuvo a sus hijos y desde un principio, rechazo a los gatitos a tal grado, que se fue de la casa abandonándolos, los dejo de pocos días. Un buen día, la familia fue a verlos y los consiguieron solos, sin mamá gata. La buscaron por todos lados y ella nunca apareció. Se fue, así de simple, dejando a sus crías sin sus cuidados. Todo el mundo se quedó asombrado, pues era la primera vez que veían el abandono de una mamá gata para con sus hijos.
Entonces les toco a toda la familia, primero llevarlos al veterinario, para que los revisaran y ver como podían hacer para alimentarlos y que darle para su alimentación a este tiempo tan delicado, les compraron lo necesario y entre todos se turnan para darle su alimento casi como a un bebé humano, cada dos horas una pequeña toma, según las indicaciones del médico, pues ni siquiera habían abierto los ojos. Y mi amiga, fascinada, cuidándolos también y por supuesto compartió conmigo todas estas incidencias y es la que me ha mantenido, al tanto de las nuevas sorpresas, ya que resulta que desde que nacieron los gatitos, la perra llamada Kira decidió adoptarlos.
Al parecer desde que los vio solos sin mamá gata, se dio a la tarea de cuidarlos a pesar de que ella misma aún no ha sido madre y he aquí lo asombroso de la naturaleza y el instinto materno, pues ella se echa para que ellos estén cerca de ella e incluso ellos buscan de amamantarse de ella y se pegan de ella, aunque obviamente, no obtienen leche, pero a ninguno les importa ni a Kira ni a los pequeños gatos, pues todos se sienten cómodos con eso, pero es muy tierno verlos en esos momentos y de eso tengo las evidencias, ya que mi amiga se ha encargado de captar esas imágenes para mí y para ustedes.
Veo esas imágenes y me parece tan increíble que un animal tenga tan afirmado ese sentimiento maternal, aun siendo que no ha tenido cachorros propios en este caso y es allí, donde pienso que la naturaleza es tan sabia y reflexiono, que como puede ser, que algunos animales, tengan más sentimientos de amor, de apego, que ciertos seres humanos, que se dice que somos la raza pensante; claro a excepción de la mamá gata que salió huyendo de sus crías, pero afortunadamente, ni amor ni atención les falta. Cada día aprendemos más y más lecciones de los animales... para bien o para mal.
El instinto maternal que había dentro de ella la llevó a adoptar a unos bebés de otra especie sin problemas... y su propia madre, los abandonó. Es extraño, realmente, pero sólo Dios sabe qué surgió repentinamente en su interior.

Si es extraño, porque la gatita era de la casa y consentida... Quizás que le pasó. Pero Kira salió al rescate, se ve bella con sus gatitos. Un abrazo amiga!!
