Hello everyone in the Hive Pets community! Today I'm here to share with you a new animal adventure. This time it's a rather peculiar little animal and nothing like any other animal I've posted before here on my blog. We're talking about quails, one of the most popular birds for breeding and obtaining their eggs in several countries. Including Venezuela, where we can find them in several states. My father-in-law is Cuban and although he is a doctor, he has always liked life in the countryside and its benefits, including this: agriculture and raising farm animals. This was of course influenced by his early life in Cuba, where his father was (still) dedicated to that work and he followed that legacy. So much so that previously (many years ago) he and my mother-in-law had proposed to live far from the city to raise goats and chickens. And so they did. This lifestyle produced many fruits, but unfortunately, due to crime, they could not continue in the area where they lived. They had to sell the house, the land, and leave there, losing all the progress they had made.

En esta ocasión se trata de un animalito bastante peculiar y nada parecido a cualquier otro animal que haya publicado antes por aquí en mi blog, estamos hablando de las codornices, una de los aves más populares para la crianza y obtención de sus huevos en varios países. Incluyendo Venezuela, dónde podemos encontrarlo en varios estados. Acompáñenme a conocerlas.
Mi suegro es cubano y aunque es médico, siempre ha gustado de la vida en el campo y de sus bondades, entre ellas esta: la agricultura y la crianza de animales de campo. Esto por supuesto influenciado por su vida temprana en Cuba, dónde su padre se dedicaba (todavía) a esa labor y él siguió ese legado. Tanto así que anteriormente (hace muchos años) se había propuesto junto a mi suegra a vivir lejos de la ciudad para criar chivas y pollos. Y así lo hicieron. De ese estilo de vida se dieron varios frutos pero lamentablemente por la delincuencia no pudieron seguir en el sector donde vivían. Tuvieron que vender la casa, el campo y salir de allí. Perdiendo todo el progreso que llevaban.
Now, after a long time living in the city, my in-laws wanted to try raising animals again, but without going too deep with it, opting for a smaller, less demanding and efficient animal: the quail. This is how they acquired a piece of land that is neither too far nor too close to the city and, more importantly, that has the conditions to begin raising them. These that you see here are the first quails to be raised after several years without being in the business. I had never seen a quail and they seemed to me to be one of the most adorable creatures there are. They are very small and have beautiful colors. I know that they are in good hands because my in-laws are very careful with their little animals. So all that remains is to wait for them to grow and for life to go on. Ahora, luego de un largo tiempo viviendo en la ciudad, mis suegros quisieron volver a intentar la crianza de animales, pero sin ir demasiado a fondo con ello, optando por un animalito más pequeño, menos exigente y eficaz: el codorniz. Es así cómo adquirieron un terreno que no está ni tan lejos ni tan cerca de la ciudad y aún más importante, que tiene condiciones para poder comenzar con la crianza de los mismos. Estos que ven aquí, son los primeros codornices en ser criados luego de varios años sin estar en el negocio. Yo nunca había visto una codorniz y me han parecido de las criaturas más adorables que hay. Son muy chiquitos y de colores preciosos. Sé que ellos están en buenas manos pues mis suegros son muy cuidadosos con sus animalitos. Así que solo queda esperar a que crezcan y que la vida siga.
