The sea and new fish that have just been caught by fishermen are common for this cat, he is named Belang, Belang is the name of a domestic cat that is often known by some people around the coast of the city of Lhokseumawe, precisely in one of the village, known as Pusong Lama, in Lhokseumawe Aceh.
It is the uniqueness of his behavior and character that makes him famous among the coastal community, especially the fishing village itself. Stripes are often nicknamed sailors or small handlers who often sail with their masters in the morning.
Belang often sails every day with his master, on the high seas, this situation has been going on for a long time since this year, his penchant for one of these traditional fishermen, makes the owner allow Belang to always be with him every day when looking for fish on the high seas. Although the operational hours are around 8 hours/day at sea with the intention of leaving at 7 am and returning at 2 pm.
The stripe often stands near the head of the boat when the boat moves towards the location of the fish that are playing. It was as if he was the one who guided his parents (the fishermen) at the beginning of the journey. According to the owner's statement (Pawang Zal) when the speed of the ship departs he always stands right near the head of the mast, this looks as if the Belang is guiding the sailors to walk to the location of the fish. Belang seems to have memorized the location from the starting point of departure to destination in a FAD belonging to his employer on the high seas.
The journey from the coastal mainland to their FAD takes 1 hour drive (according to the speed of a wooden boat using a makeshift engine).
Uniquely, when their wooden boat arrives at their FAD, Si Belang signals with a jump of joy as a sign that they have arrived and their master is ready to cast nets or sometimes special fishing rods to catch fish that play on each side, which are located in certain parts of the FAD insid water.
When the net has been sprinkled in the water, it takes half an hour to lift the net back onto the boat, and therein lies the joy of the Belang. Why?
Because when the net is lifted, the fish can be seen with various colors and aromas that Si Belang really likes. When a fish is caught in a net, Belang is the first to pick it up and taste it as his favorite food. Si Belang really likes to eat fresh and raw fish.
The Belang only ate one tail when the net was lifted onto the boat, and it was clear that the fish he ate was very large according to the size of the Belang's stomach and one tail was sufficient for breakfast. Meanwhile, for fishermen, one fish is not considered because the results they get are very large.
When he has finished the fish he has caught, he will rest in his master's net, and he only sees all the actions of his master in the daily activities of each net that has been anchored.
His presence in every activity does not disturb his master in the process of going to sea, because the Belang already understands the exact location he is standing in the boat.
When asked to his master, why must Belang be included in their every operation, the answer is very simple, because Belang always comes with him and every morning he is ready to be in the boat and when to leave. Then all this time, Belang's participation in his daily life has made his masters feel like they have a friend in the ocean, he is a domestic cat who is very spoiled and afraid to lose his master.
At 2 pm, we went home, and our house is also right on the beach. When Belang comes home and relaxes or lazes around where he likes, sometimes he likes to be and rest under the boat if the boat is on land.
If at night Belang just returns home and rests in his master's guest room, when night falls he is provided with food in the form of cooked rice and fish. His food was just like human food, and that was something the Striped was used to.

That question, inadvertently crossed my mind towards the master. So he answered with a sincere tone, he said 'Actually this situation did not have the heart to happen to Belang' and his plan was to leave Belang in his participation in the ocean, by slowly limiting him, if this was done then generally Belang would seek life another, like other domestic cats, or a life like his brother who is often on land and lives according to his circumstances.
Limiting this activity, for Belang, is easier than he continues to accompany his employer in every daily activity in the sea when fishing.
Even though we have never had an accident at sea, I am still wary of our safety together (said the majikannya). Because normally this activity is not the activity of the Belang, he only follows the owner because he is very close and spoiled to the owner.
Now Belang is an adult and deserves to find a life partner and breed in order to continue their civilization in their daily life or as pets.
Caring for it is very easy, unlike other pet cats, which often have to take care of it every day. Striped only given fresh fish and rice along with fish that have been cooked. Belang is also very smart to repel mice that are often in his employer's house but he never eats rat meat, he only kills it, maybe it is considered disturbing for his employer's family.
After all, his employer's son often taught Belang to always repel mice in their house. It looks like the owner really loves him, this can be seen when I asked the Belang to be adopted as my pet. The employer refused to give Belang to me.
