[ENG] Hello, Hive Pets community, this time I want to talk to you about Luna and a wound she has in her anus area, how I noticed it, how I think it was generated, why I came to think it was perianal cellulite and how I am dealing with it healing while I gather to take her to the vet.
[ESP] Hola, comunidad de Hive Pets, en esta ocasión les quiero hablar de Luna y una herida que tiene en la zona del ano, cómo lo noté, cómo creo que se generó, porqué llegué a pensar que era una celulitis perianal y cómo se la estoy curando mientras reúno para llevarla al veterinario.
[ENG] First, how did I notice? Well, as usual, every morning when I wake up I take Luna outside to do her business and avoid having to do it inside the house. On Wednesday (09/07/22) on this morning walk, after Luna made her bowel movements, I saw her sit on the floor and crawl with her front legs as if she still had traces of feces or if she had itching. rectal, so when I returned home I proceeded to check it and clean it, because if there had been traces of feces, it would have been spread on the fur when rubbing against the floor. When I lifted his tail to clean it, I noticed that his anus was red and inflamed and there was a break in it that oozed pus and some blood with fecal remains.

El día miércoles (07/09/22) en este paseo matutino, luego de que Luna hiciera sus deposiciones, la vi sentarse en el piso y arrastrarse con sus patas delanteras como si aún le quedaran restos de heces o si tuviera prurito (comezón) rectal, así que al regresar a la casa procedí a revisarla y limpiarla, pues de haber quedado restos de heces se los habría regado en el pelaje al restregarse contra el piso. Cuando levanté su cola para limpiar noté que tenía rojo e inflamado el ano y en él una rotura que supuraba pus y algo de sangre con restos fecales.

[ENG] How do I think it was generated? Well, infections are caused in environments that are conducive to the growth of germs and bacteria, and the anus is the gateway for all the waste the body produces. I suppose that in recent days Luna would have been left with traces of feces adhered to the fur surrounding the area of the anus and when rubbing against the floor as it did that Wednesday morning, it generated a wound that was later contaminated with the nearby dirty fur.

Bueno, las infecciones se causan en entornos que propician la proliferación de gérmenes y bacterias, y el ano es la puerta de salida de todos los desechos que produce el cuerpo. Supongo que en los días recientes Luna habría quedado con restos de heces adheridos al pelaje que rodea el área del ano y al frotarse contra el piso como lo hizo la mañana de ese miércoles generó una herida que se luego se contaminó con el pelaje sucio cercano.

[ENG] Why did I think it was perianal cellulite? Because a couple of months ago, Jack (Luna's brother) went through a situation similar to Luna's, he had a wound in the same area and with similar suppuration. When I found out about Jack's diagnosis, I investigated it out of curiosity. It turns out that perianal cellulitis is similar to an abscess that develops from the inside of the rectum to the outside of the anus, producing an infection that must be treated with surgery. in which the veterinarian must suture the internal part of the wound to prevent debris from continuing to leak and thus sepsis in the wound, to promote healing of the affected area.
[ESP] ¿Por qué creí que era una celulitis perianal? Porque hace un par de meses, Jack (hermano de Luna) pasó por una situación similar a la de Luna, tenía una herida en la misma zona y con una supuración parecida. En el momento que supe el diagnóstico de Jack lo investigué por curiosidad, resulta que una celulitis perianal es parecido a un abseso que se genera desde la parte interna del recto hasta la parte externa del ano, produciendo una infección que debe ser tratada con una cirugía en la que el médico veterinario debe suturar la parte interna de la herida para evitar que se sigan colando los desechos y así la sepsis en la herida, para promover la sanación del área afectada.

[ENG] How am I healing Luna while I gather to take her to the vet? Well, the first day I noticed the wound (09/07/22) I washed the entire area with blue soap, removing the pus, blood and fecal remains, then I dried the area and disinfected it with hydrogen peroxide and added Madecasol to stimulate healing. At this first opportunity, I did not believe as much as now that it was perianal cellulite. That same day in the afternoon, after Luna deposed again, I went back to check the area and clean it again with hydrogen peroxide, I noticed that the inflammation had reduced considerably, there was no longer any blood and only a little pus, this time instead of of Madecasol I applied protosulfil cream on the wound. From then on, every time Luna relieves herself, I clean her with hydrogen peroxide and make sure to leave the area clean and dry.
I had not taken photos of the previous cleanings, but since Friday (09/09/22) I am documenting how I find the wound before cleaning it and how I leave it afterwards, and I have noticed that the area of the wound has reduced, with what convinced me that it is not a perianal cellulitis, since without treating the internal part of the wound it would be unlikely that the external part would heal. Although I am not sure yet, I will continue cleaning and preventing the infection from increasing until I can take Luna to the vet.
[ESP] ¿Cómo estoy curando a Luna mientras reúno para llevarla al veterinario? Pues el primer día que noté la herida (07/09/22) lavé toda la zona con jabón azul retirando el pus, la sangre y los restos fecales, luego sequé el área y desinfecté con agua oxigenada y agregué Madecasol para estimular la cicatrización, en esta primera oportunidad no creía tanto como ahora que fuera una celulitis perianal. Ese mismo día en la tarde, luego de que Luna depusiera nuevamente, volví a revisar la zona y a limpiar nuevamente con agua oxigenada, noté que la inflamación se había reducido considerablemente, ya no había sangre y solo un poco se pus, esta vez en lugar de Madecasol apliqué protosulfil en crema en la herida. A partir de ese momento, cada vez que Luna hace sus necesidades la limpio con agua oxigenada y me aseguro de dejar el área limpia y seca.
No había tomado fotos de las limpiezas anteriores, pero desde el viernes (09/09/22) estoy documentado cómo encuentro la herida antes de limpiarla y como la dejo posteriormente, y he notado que el área de la herida se ha reducido, con lo que me convencí de que no se trata de una celulitis perianal, ya que sin atender la parte interna de la herida sería improbable la cicatrización de la parte externa. Aunque aún no estoy seguro seguiré limpiando y evitando que la infección aumente hasta poder llevar a Luna al veterinario.
