Cici birthed a few kittens almost about a month ago. The last time I saw her, her belly was so big that it felt like she was carrying more than 3 kittens. It was certainly expected but also unexpected that she would have 6 kittens.
Interestingly, they have different colors and this time, she even has a tortoiseshell colored kitten. By the way, last year, her last kitten didn’t survive the heatwave but we’re hoping this time, they will all be fine as the heatwave is slowly approaching too.
At the same time, our house recently adopted a new cat. It belonged to my mom and her name is Cing. I am not sure what kind of breed she is but she might as well be a mix with maine coon because she doesn’t have the tabby figure or just local sized cats. She was found at my dad’s place where I was living 3 months ago. So much has happened since and now, I am moving back into my own house.
At first, Cing lived with my mom but now, I decided that it would be best if she also lives with me. It’s a whole lot easier to take care of them and create a comfortable space for all of them to grow. At the same time, at my dad’s residential area, I overheard people complaining about the presence of stray and domesticated cats. It’s unfortunate that the cats have become a problem and it seems like the residents were slightly annoyed that the cats can roam around freely and sometimes they litter wherever they please, including the residents' sofa and their garden. That’s why it was such a good decision to bring Cing where it’s a lot friendlier for her to thrive.
There are already some relatives wanting Cici’s kitten. They wanted to pick a few of them and we’d certainly keep one or two. We’re waiting until the kittens wean off from their mother and give them for adoption. We also consider neutering her because we can’t really afford to have dozens of kittens once every year. I hope it’s the best decision we make since I learned it might also help with avoiding any UTI's or other health problems.
I also recently decided to mix their food. Rather than just relying on dry food, I mixed it with wet food and this is one of my favorite current brands. They are affordable but also quite nutritious and Cici really loves them. I also give them snacks once/day. They really love it, especially this type of snack, it’s creamy liquid snacks and compared to kibble type snacks, Cici loves this more. I don’t have a particular brand but whenever I have extra budget on my groceries, I am stocking this type of snack for them.
