Fleas be gone!
Has the fleas gone? well, not necessarily but thanks to some of y’all responses in my previous post, Help! Fleas Have Taken Over it has reduced a lot and I have tried some of the advised how-to’s.
We also brought the kitten and the mother to the vet and they gave us some medicine and tips to fumigate the house. We also tried cleaning their areas thoroughly and tried the salt trick that could kill the pesky and nasty fleas. Well, the fleas are still there but it has been reduced a lot more than the previous days when we were pretty clueless on how to get rid of them. We also found a new thing when it comes to walking around the infested area. Our trick is applying cajeput oil (some type of essential oils) on our legs and the fleas won't be all over our legs.
An unfortunate story, one of our kittens got chlamydial conjunctivitis
Apparently, during our vet visit a few days ago, we also found out one of our kittens got chlamydial conjunctivitis. It is one of those illnesses that affects the kitten’s eye and one of its signs is having those ulcer’s like in one of the kitten’s eyes. The vet gave our kitten a proper treatment and we came back home with some medicine that we have to apply daily to the kitten. After a few days now, she looks healthier and active. At first, she didn’t want to eat but now she eats a lot and is mingling so well with the other kitten. If left untreated, this could infect another kitten and endanger their lives. Now you can see on the right, she’s not having some type of ulcer around the eyes anymore.
The other kittens are also pretty active and they eat a lot and sometimes they litter wherever they can while we already provide a smaller litter box for them. For someone who loves being clean, the kitten has been quite a chore to deal with.
But it’s also fun to see that they love running around the house and it’s seeing them playing tag with each other. I hope they also survive the heat because these days some days are above 85F and our house isn’t air-conditioned yet .
Friendly Reminder
Dealing with pesky fleas and all the kittens reminded me of how important it is to have a dedicated budget for them. It’s pretty interesting over here that vets are a lot more expensive than regular physicians. It’s why lately, I also make sure that we have enough saved up in case one of our kittens runs into a problem. While it’s unlike humans that they run into health problems so often but once they get something serious, the cost could balloon and there isn’t affordable healthcare insurance for them yet. Perhaps, it would be a good idea if there were something like that but for pets since that would greatly help.
A commitment
Having a pet is also a commitment and sometimes I wonder if I made the right decision to have more than two. While these fur babies look cute, it’s only right if we have the means and be a lot more responsible when taking care of them. So, that’s a friendly reminder from me, if you want to adopt fur babies, make sure that you have the means to do so and/or have some savings in case they run into health issues.

It is good to know what they are better off. It is very important to always have a way to meet their needs. They become a member of the family.
Yes, thank you so much for the advice too. We're also looking for help experts to fumigate the whole house.
That's awesome that you're taking care of them. Did you rescue them? I just now started reading up on this.
I didn't rescue them, they're the kitten of my cat and unfortunately it's hot season, so the fleas are having the best time of their life.
