Lily's Vet visit today

in Hive Pets4 months ago

Today Lily had her check up, to see if the throat inflammation she had is now completely healed. Otherwise she would have received further treatment.

Lily in her carrier. She is always so worried!

It was a cold morning when Lily and I went to the Vet (-1°C / 30°F). It felt much more chilly than the temperature showed. Lily had a thick soft pillow in her carrier and I also covered her up with a thick warm blanket. Unfortunately, she wiggled out of it after a while. Even though it doesn't take very long to cycle to our Vet, I was worried that Lily would feel cold.

Once at the Vet, we found that the waiting room was completely empty! So we didn't have to wait long before we were called in. It was also nice and cozy warm at the Vet, which was great for sweet Lily.

Lily right after we got called in. She's looking out to see what's going on, while I'm sitting at a desk with the Vet Lady.

The examination didn't take long. Lily's throat is perfectly healthy now! I hoped it would turn out that way, since she recovered so quickly from the throat inflammation, even though it was quite severe.

Lily is very sensitive. She already had inflammation in the corners of her mouth last year, after chewing on plastic. After removing all plastic she could potentially chew on, and making sure she can't get into my grocery bags anymore when I get home from shopping, it healed very quickly.

This time the Vet and I aren't really sure what caused the severe throat inflammation. I don't use parfums, sprays or harsh chemicals anywhere in the apartment and I leave nothing out that could be dangerous to cats.

I'm just grateful and happy that Lily is healthy and happy.

Once we were back home, she was greeted by her siblings (not all siblings are actual blood related siblings, but they are just like siblings)

Later in the afternoon, the kitties enjoyed some fresh air in the sun for a few minutes. Despite the sun, it still wasn't very warm. But they all enjoy the catio so much, even when it's empty during the winter months, like now.

They enjoyed watching the sparrows fly around. After a few minutes I called them all to come inside. Leo was the only one who didn't go out, because he fast asleep in the bedroom.

Freddy's neutering surgery is next week

Next week, on Wednesday (December 11), I will take public transport to bring Freddy to our Vet for his neutering surgery at 8am. His fur isn't nowhere near as thick as Lily's, He would get way too cold during a bicycle ride.

Thank you for reading about our day! The cats and I hope you'll all have a nice rest of your day!
