RE: A Tragedy That Could Have Been Prevented

!LADYIt's heartbreaking to hear about the immediate euthanasia of those dogs, @hetty-rowan . Animals act on instinct, not malice, and it's unfair to treat them as if they had the same moral agency as humans. The comparison to how we handle human offenders highlights a significant disparity. While humans get trials and chances for rehabilitation, dogs often don't get that opportunity. The term "euthanasia" should indeed be reserved for cases of relieving unbearable suffering, not for healthy animals displaying natural behavior. It's a complex and emotional issue, and it's understandable to feel that these dogs deserved a second chance. Compassion and fairness should extend to all living beings.

Well said @silversaver888, animals never act out of malice because they simply do not have that awareness. An animal always acts completely out of instinct. That it went so wrong is entirely due to human failure, and I find it truly horrible that the dogs were killed for that. In my opinion, that shows that we humans still have a lot to learn.
