Since I first introduced Pino to this community, sharing his arrival at my home, I’ve had this second post in mind to show how much he has grown and settled in. He looks so different from the first pictures. He is now six months old and fully vaccinated.
The other day, I was having breakfast, eating papaya, when Pino caught the scent and immediately started begging for a taste. I gave him a little of what was left, and he had the time of his life licking every bit and scraping it with his teeth, trying to eat as much as possible.
It was his first encounter with papaya, but I have a feeling it won’t be the last. Now, every time I try to eat it, he comes running, ready to claim his share.
He is a very active and playful cat, which makes me think he is truly happy here. He rarely has quiet moments.
But those rare moments are exactly when I take my chance to scoop him up, cover him in kisses, and give him all the cuddles before he tries to escape. Scratching is one of his favorite things to do, and, fortunately or unfortunately, he is not interested in the furniture. Instead, his favorite targets are my feet and hands. He loves to play by biting and scratching, no matter how many toys I give him or how many other distractions I try. What he enjoys the most is grabbing my feet.
One of his favorite spots to nap is an old pharmacy cabinet. It sits against a glass window, giving him the perfect view of the street. So, besides being his favorite place to sleep, it has also become his personal lookout, where he keeps track of everything happening in the neighborhood.
He has adapted so well to the house and already understands that this is his territory. He gets along great with the dogs, but especially with Tofu, my other cat, a ten-year-old gentleman. The two of them spend most of the day either playing, sleeping together, or grooming each other. They are incredibly affectionate. One of the sweetest things is when Tofu is peacefully lying down, and Pino suddenly notices, rushes over, and throws himself into Tofu’s arms, asking for cuddles. I always keep my phone close, ready to capture these moments, because you never know when the cutest scene in the world will happen.
The photos in today’s post are from December, January, and February. A little summary of these three months with Pino in our lives.
