Ever since I learned the intricacies of grooming dogs, taking care of my Shih Tzu, Micky, has seamlessly become an integral part of my routine. Not only does it save me the hassle of visiting a grooming salon, but it also ensures Micky's well-being. This grooming ritual serves as a wonderful opportunity for us to bond.
With the use of razors, a metal comb, and a pair of scissors, I carefully trimmed Micky's fur to keep it well-maintained. Recently, I decided to shorten his fur to effectively address a tick issue. It was crucial in light of the tick bites and resulting wounds from incessant scratching. To address this, I promptly administered Nexgard chewable tablets, known for their efficacy in combating ticks, fleas, and skin diseases. One tablet offers a month-long shield against ticks.
After taking the tablets, both Micky and our other dog experienced mild diarrhea, but this did not deter me. It's a common side effect in dogs, and what matters is that they are now protected from infestations for up to 5 weeks, sparing them from the detrimental effects of tick-borne blood parasites.
I encourage everyone to have their pets under tick and flea prevention as it is crucial for their health. One tablet can save them from the effects of tick and flea bites. This can also save your wallet from future veterinary bills if someday your pet gets confined.
How about you, how do you prevent your pets from having these unwanted skin crawlers in them? Write it in the comment section.
