Our ladies are house cats. In their lifetime, the only record that we let them out was when we moved from our old place to San Pablo. We kept them safe at our home to prevent one of them from being impregnated by a stray male cat elsewhere.
I love cats, however, caring for extra cats again will be draining our budget. Cat food and litter cost almost 1/4 of our household expenses and if they will increase, I might do more jobs than I am doing right now.
Good thing that in our place there's a program for spaying and neutering that is free after making sure that Betbet's fully healed April and I agreed it is time for them to make a stroll outside.

The two ladies are different. Betbet is more of a house cat that just stays in one place either sniffing everything or even munching some grass in the field while Proty's the active girl that wants to go to as far as she can reach.
It is fun watching them enjoy the new surrounding however an incident happened earlier that made me decide to ground the girls from leaving the house.
April and Dyn-dyn visited Tatay's house this afternoon while I am sleeping. The two girls snuck into the doors, and outside, both of them enjoying the field on their own. Usually, either I or April's looking for the girls each time that we let them out, but this afternoon they got away on their own.
If you think cats are not smart, think again.
So both of them played outside until I saw a male cat in the background. In our stay here we never saw one male cat in our backyard, thus I am not sure what happened and why there's the sudden summoning of cats in the area.
Maybe because of their smell or how noisy the two are when they are playing? Who knows?
The ladies aren't used to other cats around. There are times wherein if they feel discomfort, they failed to recognize each other as well. You can hear the hiss and anger from the back as they tried to shoo away the male cat but sadly the intruder was an expert too late. I could get rid of the male cat and Betbet got some minor injuries in the said fiasco.
We think that the male cat is under his in-heat moment thus he is quite an aggressive one but still since both girls are already spayed, reproduction isn't possible anymore.
As a workaround, and to make sure that no cats will be around the area, we ground the girls for a while and double-check the lock in our doors as these two ladies are smart to think of a way to open it.
I want them to enjoy outside but if it will impose such dangers better have them supervised. Same concept will be applied to Dyn-Dyn
Natawa ako TP but at the same time you remind me of my parents. We don't have a cat at home eh but I feel like it's right to impose your parenting style when it comes to your cats. Hirap nga naman magkaanak these days tapos di pa kilala yung male cat. Lol. Kawawang Betbet at Proty, grounded for awhile 😅

I think I am strict, parang light feels lang madalas pero rule follower parin hahah. Grounded kung grounded. Yung dalawa lagi nalang naka abang sa pinto buti naka double lock na sya now kaya kahit anong tulak di magagawang buksan.
Ey, strikto ng dadeeyoh! 😱 Mas nakakatakot yata pag daddy ung strict. 😁 Ganyan talaga pag parent na lalo na sa panahon ngayon ang daming dangers everywhere.
HAHAH sorry na ayaw ko lang na masaktan ang mga pusa at nako nagkakanda gulo gulo ang mga bagay=bagay sa bahay.
damn you are right! 😂 I've been fostering a mama cat and her 2 kittens and its draining the pocket! Reading this also made me miss my cat on the other side. Not sure if Im ready to take in a new pet. Happy for to read though that you love ur cats. Cats are definitely smart.
Nako Claire, at times their food is way better than our pa.
Maybe it is a sign for you to adopt a new companion cat with you. Though they are snobbish most of the time their having around gives a cool vibe at home. Someone's disturbing you to either clean their litter or if they are hungry.
Wow lovely cats, good thing you have them spayed. We can focus on caring for our pets if we limit their numbers, and it is also a sign of being a good pet owner.
Anyways we have 5 cats.
Ang dami! Are they all boys or girls or probably mixed? Cats tend to multiply fast thus we can only secure at least two in our home. There are some strays that we saw on the streets ( kinda heart breaking as folks just leave them be ) but we cannot adopt them anymore :(
Yeah We also had one originally then may mga dumating sa bahay so inampon na namin,tas yung dalawa is napulot ko sas kalsada din.Tapos pina spay namin sila lahat. 4 girls and a male pala sila
Aguyyy maganda na yang ganiyan to prevent them from going somewhere tas uuwing may mga sugat. Some cat even if sanay silang sa bahay lang minsan ee naeengganyo talaga na lumabas ee lalo kapag in heat. Pero if naano naman na sila then all goods.
Itong sa amin mga kapon na parehas kaya technically allowed na sila lumabas di na mabubuntis ang problema lang ay ang bibilis tumakbo dami kasi pwede pag talunan tapos si Proty nanghahabol pa ng ibon. Aside from cats kalaban din ang ibang kapitbahay na baka ayaw ng pusa dami pa naman na ganun baka bigla malason yung mga cats namin pag hinayaan lang.
I haven't sprayed my cat yet but he's definitely grounded more since I am not home 🤣. You make me miss my cats at home!

If it is a male cat, spay services is quite cheap compared to the girls recovery wise they can recover faster too.

Sólo puedo imaginar. Si el tiempo y el presupuesto lo permiten y no está buscando tener un nieto de su perro, hágalo esterilizar. También puede prolongar su vida útil según han mencionado algunos estudios.
Ay, strict ni Daddy Tp. It's for the better nga naman. We always adopt male cats at home to avoid reproduction. Wala na nga kami makain, tapos dadami pa sila nuh. And our cat is lazy if we just let him whatever he wants. He will just sleep all day and roam at night. I think he above 5 years old now.
Ewan ko ba kung bakit hindi male cat ang ini adopt namin years ago edi sana mas tipid at for sure nasa labuyan talaga sila.

It's nice that you're keeping good eye out for them. I'm a dog guy myself, as cats tend to "dig in" with their claws when they would sit down on my lap and it became painful for me. We do have a "herd" (is that what they call them?) of cats that roam the neighborhood and all of the neighbors leave food for them on the fire escapes. They help to keep the wild rodent population down too. Cats can be very smart.
