The adaptation stage to a new home is very stressful for any pet and also for us, the caregivers of these wonderful and sweet little animals because we are learning about them.
In just two weeks I have learned a lot about my new pet and in this post, I want to share some happy moments we have had so far.
La etapa de adaptación a un nuevo hogar es muy estresante para cualquier mascota y también para nosotros, los cuidadores de estos maravillosos y dulces animalitos, porque estamos aprendiendo sobre ellas.
En sólo dos semanas he aprendido mucho sobre mi nueva mascota y en este post quiero compartir algunos momentos felices que hemos tenido hasta ahora.
This is Mushu, my new pet / Este es Mushu, mi nueva mascota
He is two months old, he will be 3 months old next June 4th. He is a male Siamese puppy with a very soft white coat.
Tiene dos meses de nacido, cumple los 3 meses el próximo 4 de junio. Es un cachorro macho Siamés con un pelaje muy suave de color blanco.

As I mentioned a month ago in my post Remembering little Simba, I decided to adopt him because he was in need of a home.
His mother died as a result of mistreatment she received when she was taking her usual walk in her neighborhood, we couldn't know if it was another animal or someone with a bad heart. What was certain was that her three puppies were orphaned and they had to be adopted.
Como les mencioné hace un mes en mi publicación Recordando al pequeño Simba, decidí adoptarlo porque estaba necesitando un hogar.
Su mamá falleció a consecuencia de un maltrato que recibió cuando daba su acostumbrado paseo en su vecindario, no pudimos saber si fue otro animal o alguien de mal corazón. Lo cierto fue que sus tres cachorros quedaron huérfanos y tuvieron que ser adoptados.

We wanted a name that was short, easy to memorize, and sounded cute. We thought of Misu, Michu, Snow, Snowy, and a few others. Finally, my oldest daughter came up with Mushu and we all liked it.
Mushu is the dragon from the Disney movie Mulan. A very comical, funny, and very impulsive character (just like my kitty), with great self-esteem, self-confidence (also similar to the cats' personality), with a big heart (just like our cute pets).
It was a great choice!
Queríamos un nombre corto, fácil de memorizar y que sonara bonito. Pensamos en Misu, Michu, Snow, Snowy y otros más. Finalmente, a mi hija mayor se le ocurrió Mushu y a todos nos gustó.
Mushu es el dragón de la película Mulán de Disney. Un personaje muy cómico, divertido y muy impulsivo (como mi gatito), con una gran autoestima, seguro de sí mismo (también parecido a la personalidad de los gatos), con un gran corazón (igual que nuestras lindas mascotas).
¡Fue una gran elección!

He eats four times a day. We give him small portions of cat food and meats. He likes everything and eats very eagerly.
We are teaching him how to behave because he climbs on the dining room table when we are eating. He is still very small and we have to teach him to eat only in his cup so he doesn't become a little thief in the kitchen.
Come cuatro veces al día. Le damos porciones pequeñas de comida para gatos y carnes. Le gusta todo y come con muchas ganas.
Le estamos enseñando a comportarse porque se sube a la mesa del comedor cuando comemos. Todavía es muy pequeño y tenemos que enseñarle a comer solo en su taza para que no se convierta en un ladrón en la cocina.
We prepared the house for the new restless and mischievous member / Preparamos la casa para el nuevo integrante inquieto y travieso
Before his arrival, we had to make some arrangements. The most important was not to leave electrical extensions near the floor, nor objects that could cause him harm.
He likes to hide under tables, behind curtains, and in any cool secluded corner, he can get. We already know where to look for him when he gets lost in the house.
We still haven't let him out into the neighborhood. It is very small and other larger cats live near here that can harm it by claiming its territory.
Antes de su llegada, tuvimos que hacer algunos arreglos. Lo más importante fue no dejar extensiones eléctricas cerca del piso, ni objetos que pudieran causarle daño.
Le gusta esconderse debajo de las mesas, detrás de las cortinas y en cualquier rincón fresco y apartado que pueda conseguir. Ya sabemos dónde buscarlo cuando se pierda en la casa.
Todavía no lo hemos dejado salir al vecindario. Es muy pequeño y otros gatos más grandes viven cerca de aquí que pueden dañarlo al reclamar su territorio.

It reminds me a lot of Simba. He has the same eye color and the same mischief. He is very affectionate and adapted to us very quickly.
Me recuerda mucho a Simba. Tiene el mismo color de ojos y la misma picardía. Es muy cariñoso y se adaptó muy rápidamente a nosotros.
The first few days he would not stop purring and smelling everything. It kneads everything it touched with its front paws. I became worried.
I learned from its former owner that her little brother also meowed a lot. We assumed they were missing each other because they slept on top of each other. Mushu likes to sleep resting his head on something.
Los primeros días no paraba de ronronear y oler todo. Amasaba con sus patas delanteras todo lo que tocaba. Llegue a sentirme preocupada.
Supe por su antigua dueña, que su hermanito también maullaba mucho. Supusimos que se estaban extrañando, porque ellos dormían uno encima del otro. A Mushu le gusta dormir apoyando su cabeza en algo.
He recently fell asleep on my hands, it was a very tender and very funny moment at the same time.
Recientemente se quedó dormido en mis manos, fue un momento muy tierno y muy divertido al mismo tiempo.
Has a lot of energy and loves to play / Tiene mucha energía y le encanta jugar
He runs around the house, climbs on the furniture, curtains and jumps with his toys. Chase any insect that passes by, it seems that it will be a great hunter.
We are happy to have a new member of the family who fills us with joy and gives us lots of love and tenderness.
Corre por la casa, se sube a los muebles, a las cortinas y salta con sus juguetes. Persigue cualquier insecto que pase, parece que será un gran cazador.
Estamos felices de tener un nuevo miembro de la familia que nos llena de alegría y nos da mucho amor y ternura.

To finish, then I leave you a video that I made with some of his mischiefs and with a very funny moment that happened the first day he arrived at the house and saw himself in a mirror in the living room and thought it was another cat. The poor kitten bristled and stood on guard ready to attack. It was very funny. I hope you enjoy it.

Para finalizar, a continuación les dejo un video que realicé con algunas de sus travesuras y con un momento muy divertido que ocurrió el primer día que llegó a la casa y se vio en un espejo que hay en la sala y pensó que era otro gato. El pobre gatito se erizó y se puso en guardia listo para atacar. Fue muy cómico. Espero que lo disfruten.

Ser mamá de un gatito es lo mejor y lo digo porque también tengo uno, que hermoso es y su carita de consentido es tan preciosa. Saludos y un abrazo a Mushu!♥
Los gatitos son dulce y muy tiernos y nos hacen reír con sus ocurrencias. Cuando están pequeños cuidarlos es muy estresantes porque quieren meterse con todo y muy cansado porque no duermen tanto como los gatos mas grandes. Pero es lo mejor que tenemos en casa.
