Preggy Lucy

Hello fellow pet owners!
So my baby is no longer a baby after all. Lucy is pregnant!

Well we’ve actually been suspecting for a couple of weeks ever since she mated and now we are 100% certain.
Today we set out for a proper pregnancy scan to see if all is well in there and if her puppies are sitting perfectly well. It was a stressful day but anything for our incoming mum I guess.

Initially we had no clue of any available vet clinic in our area and we couldn’t take Lucy to a far distance because of her condition and the fear of getting car sick. My mum had mentioned that she found one pet clinic on her way out one time so we took an Uber with hopes and prayers to find the clinic at the location she claimed.

It was just me, my mum and Lucy that took this exhausting trip.
A few minutes later, we arrived at the location but unfortunately for us there was no vet clinic there so we were back to square one.
After a short drive in circles, searching the map for vet clinics close to us and asking a thousand and one strangers for direction, we found a pet store just close by the area. We were relieved and optimistic that we finally found a breakthrough but unlucky for us and just like their name implied, they only sell pet stuff not render clinic services.

Bummer.

Well on the bright side, it was a really cute store, Lucy got to feed her eyes, stretch her legs and get hugs and kisses from the kind attendants. Of course I took some pictures of the place because why not.

They had toys, varieties of treats and cute little/huge cages. Basically dog heaven.

We eventually explained to the kind attendants on our stressful journey and they offered us the phone number of their own vet. We called and asked for his location but he was in-fact not available plus his location was so far from us so we were once again back to square one. Looks like the universe was against Lucy doing the procedure but we didn’t give in.
In the end, one of the attendants offered us an alternative vet clinic which was close by and luckily the vet was available so we thanked them and immediately set off to our next location.

Six minutes later, we arrived our final destination.

This sign caught my attention and whoever came up with it must’ve been up to something but hey it actually works. A female dog is called a bitch, get it?

We met a vet alright but unfortunately it looks like the universe won this round because the clinic actually lacked the equipments needed for the pet pregnancy scan.
So instead, the doc did a quick physical check up on Lucy from her belly bellow and she confirmed that everything was alright and well so there was little or no need for a scan because it’ll rather stress her. She advised to just leave her be, stay positive and expect safe delivery of four to fourteen healthy puppies! She also implied that we can purchase folic acid for Lucy for easier delivery but that would be optional. We purchased it though, like i mentioned earlier, anything for our soon to be mama.

We finally headed home after a long confusing day but in the end, we achieved something.
