Quick post about POSH distribution update

in HivePosh3 months ago

I have a bigger and more important post to go out soon about some new activities regarding POSH, but wanted to get this update out real quick due to a distribution change going out just now.

We've been focusing quite hard on getting @redditposh more active and with the help of @x-rain and many wonderful sharers we've been seeing a lot of progress there lately. The current distribution of POSH is 100 tokens per day to sharers based on how well their shares did, these can be checked via its comments or on the daily automated posts that get shared.

We've also been hosting contests where the sharers share their analytics which can't be observed by outsiders to win extra HP delegations and now also HBD. This has meant that we've had to leave hivepower staked to be able to delegate along with voting the posts a bit higher to generate extra incentives for the sharers.

While this is using the post rewards to generate rewards, it is being done without a single individual or entity profiting off of the rewards, instead they're going to people who are helping send traffic to our hive frontends. As you can imagine, bringing new users here to read content may lead them to check out what Hive is, what the rewards mean, etc to potentially create an account and become active here. On top of it all with 2 frontends, @peakd and @ecency adding view counters it's been refreshing to see the effects good shares have had on upping the traffic shared posts get - as you can imagine this could also be a great combination with experimentative things like ads and ad revenue generation which @peakd is testing currently.

Anyway, instead of just relying on post rewards, we'd want to encourage people who want to support this activity further to delegate to @poshtoken which manually curates shares and soon other initiatives as well which attempt to bring value to our ecosystem. For a long time, delegators have been earning 250 POSH per day based on the amount they delegate, this will now change to 1000 daily.

More info on this, POSH is currently at 770k tokens issued out of a max supply of 1 million tokens. Throughout the years, POSH has also bought back tokens from the market, i.e. delegators or sharers selling POSH they've earned and is currently holding over 250k tokens on the @poshtoken.wallet.

Again, since this is all to provide value to hive as a whole, we will be changing how distribution works once the supply limit is hit. Once we reach 1 million tokens, we will start distributing tokens we've already bought back once from the @poshtoken.wallet account to delegators and sharers. At this point this will start happening at a much lower rate and decreasing on a constant basis.

Example: from this post forward there'll be 1100 POSH tokens issued daily, but once the supply limit is reached, we won't be issuing new tokens, but rather tokens we've bought back over the 3 years of its existence. We will then lower the amount that goes out on a daily/weekly basis. For instance on the first week we may issue out 1100 tokens daily, while on the 2nd week we may issue out 1150 tokens, and so forth. All the while we will continue to re-buy tokens from the market over and over.

This artificial change of supply shock/halving is meant to make POSH more valuable to reward those who've supported the project and held for a long time which at the same time have supported Hive getting more traffic and recognition.

Either way, if you want to support the initiative, now is probably one of the better times to do so, with 230k tokens left to be issued, this means approximately 7 months left until we hit the max supply of 1 million POSH.

If you want to verify what's being done with the funds, how the account curates, etc, we post some posts on @poshtoken now and then about transparency of fund usage along with other side-projects connected to it such as @redditposh and our reward liquidator @nomnomnomnom (which takes no fee).

PS. We're also working on some other automated ways to check when hive links are shared on other platforms, some newer up and coming ones that are API-use friendly. More about that soon thanks to @hivetrending working on it!

Thanks for reading!

$POSH... ...a max supply of 1 million tokens

A max supply, a marketing token, and @acidyo as the founder sound like a very interesting combination. 🙂 I can imagine various potential use cases for $POSH, like premium access to POSH marketing for companies in the future. It's probably too early to speculate but, when the value is clearer, the token won't be this cheap.

@poshtoken is a brilliant project, a friend of mine @hivetrendingworked on it, particularly @redditposh - I just delegated 100 Hive.

I then picked up some more POSH and added it to the liquidity pool.

Thanks for the updates and a great project promoting the discovery of Hive.

Cheers!

It's been really fun participating in sharing Hive content on Reddit, even though my reddit account is old, I had never used it before.

Through POSH I first started sharing links for the game of it, but I found I actually quite like Reddit as a platform aswell, so this project has been a huge WIN/WIN for me.

I guess with like 2-3 weeks of Redditing + Sharing hive content, I've built up a nice amount of Karma :)

Amazing news!! Love Hive, love Posh, love sharing content. Sadly had to take last two weeks off but getting back into it!! Keep up the great work and lets make Hive the next big thing!!!

Wow, this is such a well thought out and transparent update! It’s refreshing to see a project that’s not only focused on creating value for its community but also actively planning for long-term sustainability. The idea of transitioning to a buyback-and-distribute model once the supply limit is hit is genius, it creates that artificial scarcity while still rewarding loyal supporters.

I also love how you’re tying POSH’s success directly to Hive’s growth and recognition. It’s a win win for everyone involved. The fact that you’re sharing regular updates on fund usage and curation adds another layer of trust and accountability, which is so rare in the crypto space.

The upcoming automated tools for tracking Hive links on other platforms sound exciting too! Can’t wait to see how that unfolds, especially with @hivetrending involved.

Thanks @acidyo for the heads-up about the 7-month window before max supply hits. It’s definitely a great time to get more involved and support the initiative. Keep up the amazing work. this is how you build a project that lasts!

I'm looking forward the next updates! I need to say I avoid share peakd as link, the ads kinda scare off people and make it look like a bait expecially on mobile, they are a double edged sword

Compared to the predatory ads most other websites have, or pay walls, etc, I don't think they're that bad.

Yeah, but for first comers readers (or expecially first times you post in a sub) it's not a great presentation...also on mobile is right above the title, like even before you start reading you see ads and then down right before comments, big and easy to misspress... in 2 different communities they started complain for ads so i switched to ecency or hive.blog and it's going good

If sharing a link is risky (like in a strict or new subreddit), I avoid using PeakD links because of the mobile ads - after I learned that from you a couple of weeks ago. 👍

Is it possible to find out the number of views before the Hive link is shared? Technically possible, but I don't know how costly it would be.

Peakd and ecency only count their own views, i.e. views on peakd and ecency respectively.

Thanks.

The POSH Project is doing well and adding value to the hive ecosystem as a result. I'll try to get in before the 1m max supply is hit. The new changes you've introduced to the POSH project is not bad at all. Keep up the good work.

This is a great initiative to bring more attention to Hive!

Keep up the great work !BBH

👍👍👍

Nice project.

Hello!

I was interested in information about the distribution of POSH \ tokens. I would like to learn more about how exactly these tokens are distributed and what criteria are taken into account when issuing them. I would be grateful if you could provide more detailed information about how the POSH\token distribution system works.

It would also be interesting to learn about the future development plans of the POSH project. What new initiatives are planned to be implemented in the near future? How can this affect the distribution of tokens?

Thank you for your work in developing the POSH\project. I appreciate your transparency and commitment to providing value to token holders.

Good to hear. :) I wish continues success to POSH! 💪😉👊🙏

This is one of the best project of posh, is the raddit post on posh every week still on going?
