While we're working on more comprehensive lists of tested subreddits to share your hive posts onto to make it easier for new sharers to earn some POSH and Hive by doing so, I thought I'd take the time to give people some additional beneficial options when sharing for instance @peakd links!
Did you know that when you copy a link to a post you can do so directly from @peakd? Let's take a look at a recent post as an example!
This amazing drawing by @julsdraws in the Holozing community:
Now I wanna go ahead and share it on Reddit. Instead of going to reddit.com/r/holozing in the address field, I can simply go down to the reward info section of her post and click "share link".
Clicking on Twitter for instance let's me quickly and easily share it on there through a pop-up window:
Now of course that's not the most optimal way to share things on Twitter any longer, you're supposed to place links in a reply under the initial tweet to avoid getting "hidden" away by the algo. You can do the same thing for Reddit but it seems that the link is missing when submitting the share, and you gotta keep in mind to select the community you want to share into which will show you the ones you're subscribed to or you can search for it by typing.
Now that you've selected the correct subreddit:
Here's an additional trick to reward you potentially forever if the right person happens to click on your Reddit link!
By clicking on the "Referrals Link" it will automatically copy a @peakd referral link based on your Hive username when sharing a specific post. In this case it was: https://peakd.com/hive-131131/@julsdraws/light-healer-in-a-zappit-attire-holozing-fanart?ref=acidyo
Now the peakd link is in the subreddit and people can view the image and click on it to get here. If it's someone without a Hive account, they will have to create one to be able to comment on your shared post here on Hive.
Reddit also offers some nice share analytics for each post, usually updated a few hours after you share as you can see in a previous share of mine in the Holozing community:
While the Holozing community is quite small, this can be quite effective in bigger communities, even if your share doesn't do well in terms of reddit upvotes, here's a @spknetwork post I shared the other day for instance:
We have some analytic rewarding ideas in mind to jumpstart on the HivePOSH community soon so stay tuned for that!
Okay so what does it mean to share your referral link when sharing hive links to reddit? (there may be front-ends other than peakd offering referral links with different reward structures as well)
Well, they'll be sent to Hiveonboard.com where they'll hopefully be granted a free Hive account if they verify with SMS and once they get it created and login there's some special metadata in place for that account who used your referral link to signup!
Peakd will be granted beneficiary metadata that sets them as beneficiary of the new users posts up to 1%. Another 1% will go to the account credit provider for the free Hive account, in this case that'd be @ocdb (or others) as they're providing hiveonboard with free Hive account tickets. Lastly, 3% will go to the referrer which is you in this case.
This means that for every post this new author makes, you'll receive 3% of their post rewards. If you get someone who's genuine and active and garners a lot of upvotes that's quite some decent passive income for you, especially if you do this well and end up inviting many over time.
Keep in mind though that these beneficiary settings aren't enforced, they can be removed by the user at any time, usually when they learn enough about Hive or maybe they won't mind it and leave it on since without you they most likely wouldn't have gotten any monetary rewards to begin with! Either way if you're looking to grow your hivepower, sharing links with referral code included can be a great way to combine it with POSH incentives allowing you to earn POSH, Hive from the @redditposh comments and additionally referral rewards in the form of beneficiaries.
Here's hiveonboard sending @peakd alerts that someone created an account through them, I believe peakd gets the 3-4% beneficiaries in that case if it wasn't direct user referrals sending people to peakd through their ref link:
and on the activities page you can check @peakd receiving referral rewards from active authors having joined Hive through them! Not too shabby!
Sharing is caring and can be quite rewarding! There's quite a few tools out there but not many using them so figured this post might help some of you do better longterm!
thanks for this useful and advices about sharing Hive links.
For some time I shared my hive-posts on Reddit but then I stopped due to lack of free time coupled with the difficulty of finding appropriate subreddits for my posts mostly about hive-based games but after reading this post of yours and also cryptoreforma's post I have to resume on Reddit

I've made an update to the publication, I've added this to “Publication os Reddit”:
“If the post was made via PEAKD you have a more direct way to republish it on Reddit. Read this post carefully: “When sharing your Hive links”.

Oh cool, I've just been copy & pasting my links to other social media platforms, didn't know PeakD had a share button built in (altough I had never checked either xD)
This makes it so much easier to gain referrals under my account if I share posts around the internet.
Thanks for this knowledge!
Thank you. I just joined posh and started sharing my posts on reddit. I didn't realize you can share other posts as well.
Yes and old posts as well as long as u haven't shared it before.
Oh thank you. I just shared three of my current posts.
Thanks, I don't use Reddit, but I do use Twitter and didn't know about the hide feature of the algorhytmn.
I will change my strategy and workflow and see if that helps me build my Twitter Following faster.
Thank you, everything is clear and informative. Such posts are especially useful for users like me, who do not understand the operation of algorithms and need visual instructions.
I don't use Reddit, but on the referrer link, it works same way everywhere, right ? I mean if I share my referral link and people use that to sign up, the result would be same ?
Wow this is a great innovation. I had zero idea about this. I will get on track ASAP and see how it works. The Hive community is really working and that’s great
I didn't know that, but now reading the post I wonder why not make a Hive DApp similar to reddit? Or it is not factible?
Reddit is all about sharing and discussing those things. I have some communities in mind for it to be created soon using @commentrewarder, but here it's more about original content due to rewards and if whales or say accounts that got a lot of auto votes and support would only share a link and get $60 it wouldn't be fair to other users putting in more effort.
There are tools that we can use to improve the views of our posts and eventually the rewards. Greetings and great plans for the future, we just have to keep an eye on all those updates that are waiting for us
Sharing with referral link attached is very great and motivates people to share more!
Innovation is the key word to continue growing and evolving to place #POSH at the top of the #Hive family projects.

This is a very educated tutorial. I love it I will follow up
I'm really very glad and thankful that you shared this with us. Being new to hive I really need to get such guidance for such things. I really got to know about many of the new things from this post and getting aware of it. That's great.!! Thanks a lot!!
Very cool!
This is a very useful information. I am kind of interactive in some sub reddits. I will try and utilize this to get interested people onboard
