The thieves, sophisticated ones... if they are capable to hack your computer (and we all know they are), it would be even easier for them to hack some smart-home system, not only by opening the door, but by doing many other crazy stuff like switching on and off devices connected to it (i.e., heating, air-conditioning, dishwasher, oven, microwave, washing machine, dryer, fridge, opening and closing the blinds, etc.) all of which may increase the owner's utility expenses, and not to mention making the owner entirely insane or even unable to stop it.
Did you think about that aspect of "smart homes" too?!
