Writing daily isn’t that hard

in Indiaunited23 hours ago

It is extremely difficult.
Let me explain. I took up the daunting task of Daily writing, knowing all too well that the probability of me giving up is very high and I may not be able to complete the 1 week of the challenge. Today is day 27 of the challenge, and here I am with a post. It may seem like I am nearing the finish line. And the journey here is not that easy.
The task was to write daily. Since I write movie reviews, SL/Rising star blogs, rookie level finance blogs and several other topics. I decided to have a plan. Like Monday is going to be motivation stuff, where I will be sharing some techniques of life experience that's positive in nature. Tuesday is going to be my financial blog day. Again, the point was to share my learning in finance and my experiments and their results. Wednesday to be dedicated for some creativity task and maybe something spiritual. The spiritual thing is very new. I usually keep my spiritual activity to myself, but as a part of the challenge, I added that too. Thursday’s again talk of positivity and much needed motivations. Friday was the Game, and Saturday and Sunday are going to be light with a movie review and other stuff.
Now, on paper, this looks like a good plan. Simple and easy to execute. You check what day it is, pick the topic from that genre, and get to writing. Easier said than done. You see, the problem is ‘being human’ (I wanted to make a joke about a certain actor, but I am going to let it slide this time; I am trying to be Sirius here. I am sorry that was a bad one.) But it is true that ‘being human’ gets in the way of otherwise a perfect plan. You see, for me, writing is not all about a piece of information you are passing on. But I like to add a little personal touch to it. The problem with the personal touch is that it is very inconsistent. Let us say it's a Tuesday, a busy work day, and I got out of the office very late. I reach home to be greeted by a very angry lady whose face resembles my wife's. And once everything is done, when I finally sit in front of the laptop and check that I have to write about a financial post. I have to reference several notes and check the facts as it's not fiction. All of this takes effort. When the post ready, I noticed that the personal touch missing. And now I am forcing my touch to it, and it doesn't feel right. I think I am not using the personal touch correctly here, but you get the point.
The point is, if I were to write something boring and forced, I might have finished the documentation of the product and some mail response. In order for me to write a happy post, I must remove all the restrictions and go all out on it. And write whatever I want and touch it however I please.

“You sure, this is what you want? Its a bit of a “touchy” subject” I asked inuke.
“Just post it. Man.”
“As you wish. Not going to argue today.”

Hey Folks

And like I said, when I am writing for fun I feel relaxed and easy and when I am going by the calender I feel stressed. While it feels like I have figured out a way to write daily. There is this challenge of maintaining the quality. Anyway, someone told me the only way to go fast is to go really slow. I don't know what that really means. But I am going to go slow and try planning again. Who knows I might succeed.
As always, a big hug to the India United and BeAwesome community.
