Exploring The Ancient Art Of Rangoli: A Look Into Indian Tradition

I am proud to say that rangoli is one of the most important parts of Indian tradition and culture. In most cases, we draw special rangoli designs for festival and wedding occasions. Why? Because it welcomes our guest to our home, and the materials we use for drawing symbolise our culture too.

Mostly, we use color powders with sand, flour, or flowers for preparing our rangoli. This rangoli art represents the artist's inner mediation, love, and affection towards his family and society. But now a days it importance coming down.

No one showed interest in drawing rangoli in front of our houses. I don't know the reason. But my day starts with drawing rangoli. I am so proud to say that I am here protecting our Indian culture and tradition.

History and Origin of Rangoli

There is no correct data regarding where this rangoli originated in India. But regarding some sources In India, rangoli practice start from centuries. In India, we draw this rangoli using colored sand, rice, chalk, and flower petals.

This drawing includes simple drawings to complex images like animals, famous personalities, gods, goddesses, and many more. The purpose of creating rangoli is to bring luck and good fortune, as well as to honor and welcome guests into people’s homes.

During festival time, in front of the temple, we may see rangolis in large size with beautiful Decorations. It looks so admire and meaning full.

But present-day rangoli designs get changes to accommodate modern culture. Now we may see rangolis in the form of a message-sharing tool . It's a really good thing. Why because from this that message reach large users in a short period. That is the power of rangoli.
