To Save Our Environment ~ It all begins with us

in Indiaunited2 months ago

I attended a clean-up seminar, and the talk was on environmental cleanliness and sustainability. A lot of people gave their views on how to keep our surroundings clean and safe. Most of the things that I heard were easier said than done. I just sat there and thought to myself, why think big when you can do the little you can to save your environment?

There are different ways to save and keep your surroundings clean, and it all starts with you. Why save potholes when you can always improvise means to close them up to avoid harmful and disease-carrying vectors living there? The last thing to do is weed around your surroundings. How can you go out to tell society what to do when you can't even have an exemplary life for others to follow?

Some people don't know that a clean environment is the society's pride. Minor things like reducing pollution of carbon dioxide into the air are healthy. Burning firewood and bush burning shouldn't be done where people's houses are to avoid air pollution. To keep our environment clean, we have to comply with the Triple R, which stands for Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. As I said earlier, to ensure a clean environment, we need to reduce the rate of air pollution in our environment. As per reuse, there are a lot of things that surround us that can be reused to gain a greater benefit. For example, clothes and materials that you don't feel the need to use again can be reused by others, so instead of thrashing them, it's better to give them out as charity.
Once in a while, Mom collects all the clothes we've outgrown and keeps them safe to be given out as charity to people. The same applies to toys, furniture, and many others if you feel you don't need it any longer, someone out there wants it. By so doing, it helps save our environment.

Then we talk about recycling. Do you know that if creativity takes over all our homes, then we will be able to beautify our environment by recycling plastic bottles? For example, a recycled soda bottle can be used to make lots of different plastic items like combs, toothbrushes, and many more. A whole lot of things that people thrash, like paper, newspaper, corrugated cardboard, high-grade paper, and aluminum steel, can all be recycled. This can help save trees as well which saves as a means of sustainability.

There are many other ways to save our environment but it all begins with us. Volunteering sometimes to help clean the community is also another way to save our environment. Conservation of water, you know it's very important not to waste our water sources because we believe it'll always be there. By minimizing the way we use water, we are saving a lot of freshwater bodies out there, planting trees, and educating people out there on more knowledge on environmental cleanliness. By so doing, we will be able to save not just our environment but ourselves, our planet, and future generations.
