Hello Hivers!!
Welcome to my blog…
So, today made it 1 week since my birds arrived and time for them to take their first vaccine dosage which is the gumboro vaccine..
The last set of birds I kept I missed the proper timing to give the vaccine but this time around I never made it skip my memory..
Since these set of birds are more that the first set I kept, there were some changes I made in my routine, because of the number and size of my brooding unit.
Normally, I could allow their dropping for like 2-3 days before changing their being but now every day, I will have to change the being as not to cause more problems. And also change their water twice a day just to curb transfer of disease through their drinking water.
As usual, the vaccine must be given early in the morning and I do allow the vaccine water for about 30-, 45 min before changing but to normal water..
The vaccine is very essential in poultry keeping because you don’t know when any disease will stick next and can render you jobless..
I have had to redraw giving the chicks water to make them very thirsty and want to drink water so once the vaccine is administerd and you see then to coming to half a drink.

What kind of sickness can the birds get if not vaccinated?
There might get hit with gumboro disease or Newcastle disease which doesn't have a cure but can be prevented by the vaccine..
