Introduction
Good day to everyone, as we've just celebrated Christmas, it is time to wrap up the year before we embrace 2025. I think it had been a good year for me as I just started playing this game right after we started 2024. With the consistent guidance of my mentor and continuous working on layer 2 token management/young citizen sales, I would say I have grown quite substantially. In today's post, it will be like a mini wrap up for the year.
What is dCity?
The game is a city simulator game based on Hive NFTs where one can create a city the way we want it to be. As players develop and grow their cities, optimization is needed in terms of buildings, city population, the income that the city yields and technological developments. While many aspects of the game can be calculated based on the simulator within the game, there is a portion of randomness in the form of crisis event which can bring different kind of impact to city which affects income or popularity. If you like the original SimCity, I am sure you will like this.
My City
The below screenshot is how my city looks like at this moment:
There were definitely some adjustment in terms of taxes percentage and income. So instead of getting nearing 70 SIM previously, my income recently stabilized around the range of 60 SIM. If we look at the big bubbles that I have in the city, it is mainly economist, young citizens, students and wind turbine. These are the items that I am focusing right now in terms of growing.
Young citizens and students make up the big core of development of the city with the maturing of young citizens into students and into the workforce a key part that I hope to happen more frequently and adding them into the workforce. Some might say it is a gamble but I think it is worthy because there is high chances that I will be getting something good in terms of tax refund or income to boost up my city stats.
The next portion of growth comes from the wind turbines which requires 2 workers per turbine. As mentioned in earlier updates, instead of buying items 1 by 1, I hope to be able to buy in sets for Wind Turbine, alongside 2 tax refunding citizens unless a student pops into a new working adult and reduce the need for me to purchase a new citizen.
With continuous work on these few items, I do hope I can quickly bump up my income as much as I could without reducing too much on my accumulated SIM.
There is a citizen that is unemployed right now which I plan to grab another economist and wind turbine to complete 1 set and walk closer to forming my first wind farm.
Accelerating Towards SIM Millionaire
In terms of reaching the 1 million SIM power goal, I am still more than 720k SIM from reaching that. Indeed it is far and I definitely need to work harder on it. 720k if based on just selling young citizens, I will take approximately 800+ days which means this goal can only be met more than 2 years later which is something I do not want to let it happen this way. And so, the only way to accelerate this is to buy in or somehow improve the daily SIM income. I do get quite abit of layer 2 coins due to blogging and they will be my source of getting more SIM. Hopefully I can pull in as much in terms of getting the SIM millionaire as soon as possible instead of solely waiting on young citizen sales.
Current SIM Holdings
At the moment of writing, the current amount of SIM I am holding has reached 276,018 SIM. SIM increase mainly coming from Young Citizen sales for this week and also some layer 2 token swaps which gave me some good boost in gaining SIM. The goal to 1m SP doesn't change and there is a need to further accelerate it which not just getting into SIM Millionaire, I will also be able to have stronger passive liquid hive gained daily.
Why Hold SIM?
This is reminder to all that holding SIM (or commonly known as SIM Power) brings about daily liquid hive if one having above 8000 SIM Power. SIM Power is calculated by the from the 30 days average SIM holdings.
With the increase in SIM in my Hive Engine, the 30 day average of my SIM power will continue to increase and then translate to move liquid Hive earning per day. Amount of liquid Hive per day based on current 30 day average is as seen below:
Assuming no increase in Sim Power, I will get 0.6 liquid Hive per month. I've made a mistake in the calculation and assumed I already had capability to reach more than 1 liquid Hive per month. The only way to get more Hive passive coming in is to continue to build the SIM power. This amount earned passively will actually aid me in my goal where I am hoping that with this continuous building of the passive liquid hive accumulation, and when the goal is hit, I will be able to fully fund for the minimum hive power up requirement for Hive Power Up of 10 HP solely from this. And this will need me to be able to accumulate 0.333 Hive per day in order to do so. Right now, while I am only 10% completed from my goal, I am still thankful to be able to hit this achievement.
Closing
The year had went well as my city grew from totally nothing to at least something. From a barren land to a city with citizens and various buildings. I think it is a fun experience where SIM is gained and decision how to reinvest or build up cards for combining etc. A real good year of playing which I will continue as I work towards 1 million SIM.
